As a teenager in the mid 60's, I made it my quest to find her doppleganger later on. I came close in future relationships, beautiful women in their own right, but nothing compared to her... 🤷

Almost 30 years before this show aired, the nazis were busy getting their genocides started while the Americans were pretending it wasn't a big deal. The entirety of human history is made up of every possible level of human horror and decency, from literal genocide to someone saying "oh how do you do" to a guest. We are no worse off today, we're just too self-absorbed to try and look beyond what is right in front of us.

It's amazing that these episodes have survived at all. Videotape was prohibitively expensive back in the 60s, so much so that it was common practice to reuse or, "wipe" videotapes whenever possible.

I absolutely adore Elizabeth! I loved watching her facial and hand expressions. I also sat here and thought, "This is allot of work for $300!" In 1966 it was actually equivalent to around $2,500! Considering the cost of a vehicle, which averaged $3,500! That was when money was worth money!

Such a wonderful show!!! I miss the good old days of television.

I always like the fairness of swapping partners in case one of the guest celebrities was a real dud.

I watched Bewitched when it started its run, in the days when we couldn't tape the shows but had to rush through our routines so we could park ourselves in front of the TV. Now in 2021, at age 62 watching and taping the reruns and loving it!!

Robert Montgomery was a wonderful actor & Elizabeth carved her own legacy. Loved Bewitched! I’m 74 & watched Jim in a comedy show called “I Married Joan” about a judge married to a zany woman who got into trouble worse than Lucy. My younger brother loved Mr Magic, voiced by Jim, loved by all ages. Miss all of these wonderful talented people! So thankful for the movie & TV films saved for everyone to enjoy over & over!

As a child, I found the a cappella theme song and incidental music of "I Married Joan" really creepy.

...a real fun reality show..."back in the good ol' days"...one of the few shows my mom let me watch when i was 9...i still have a crush on Elizabeth...thanks for the memories...Mr. Howel too, lol...

Although the original "Password" was usually taped in New York, there were about eight weeks a year when the show would be taped in Hollywood so that stars who wouldn't be able to go to New York could still appear.

You know if that host had made comments like he did TODAY, toward that young college student from Canada in reference to her getting her doctorate in literature, he probably would have been fired the next day, when in those times everyone probably saw it as flattery and a sweet compliment.

What a change for women! In 1966, they were 12% of PhDs. By 2019, they were 53% of PhDs. Women are the majority of graduates at every educational level now from high school to doctorate. Also, the majority of law & med school grads. Wow.

WWII story: Elizabeth's very scary/by-the-book/harsh Navy Lieutenant Commander officer father Robert Montgomery gave my father a secret leave of absence to see his new-borne baby in Chicago, circa 1942. This was, IIRC, weeks before my father shipped out to the Pacific, assigned to a mine-sweeper. My father said everyone was was scared shitless of him, an unforgettable act of kindness from LtCdr. Montgomery. Thank-you.

WOW, life sure was exciting back then! I was born in 67 and grew up on Bewitched and Gilligan's Island episodes daily, once in syndication during the 70s! I still crush on Elizabeth Montgomery!

I so enjoy watching these old shows. It's wonderful to see the actresses and actors who were such a huge part of my childhood in their heyday through the magic of television. It's like seeing familiar old friends.

Loved both of them. But Elizabeth is so much loved.

I was not even born when this aired. Celebrties of today should do this same thing with average people. It shows massive stars connecting with the general public. It definitely brings love and unity. And before the internet or even cable everyone knew who these people were.

When I was a kid in school we got to stay in at lunch and watch Password if we stayed quiet and I loved it when Carol Burnett and Elizabeth Montgomery were on. It was a few years later then this though, in the early 70's, but I really enjoyed it. Being able to see these even older episodes here on youtube is great.

TIMELESS STILL 30 YEARS TO GO TILL DAWN OF CELLPHONES circa 1996 back in a time when people could have remarkable conversations without flaking out or staring at their cellphone

Elizabeth was one of two actresses in line for co-lead in "On the Waterfront". She either lost or turned down the role. The director said there was "too much of an air of finishing school" about her for the role - another article once quoted him as saying "too Connecticut". Following up on this was how I learned that Connecticut was often the "country" where New York celebrities (like her father, actor Robert Montgomery) and the wealthy would often retreat for a quieter life, and was also the epicenter for the old American 1930's "movie dialect" that sounded so proper and almost like a British accent that you would hear occasionally from New York City-based actors in the old days. You can hear it in Backus' speech, as well as slightly in Montgomery's.

It was cool to see Elizabeth impressed over Jim Backus' golf experience. He was being modest. He actually was a very good golfer. An amateur obviously, but one year he legit made the cut at Pebble Beach. That's no small task.

I loved both Elizabeth and Jim Backus. He sounded just like Thurston Howell when he said "by George you're right!" 🤣🤣🤣

I remember watching this show as a child. Wow. Long time.

These were the good ol shows with class act actors and actresses 🙂

Same here. I watched Password from 1962 last night after watching news and feeling depressed by what I saw. Allen Ludden and Password always makes me smile.

I grew up watching Super Password in the '80s. I would love to see this return and be played in it's original format. And hopefully Betty White would be around for one more appearance.

I always love this show, and I loved Elizabeth Montgomery in Bewitched. I like to play along with this show at home, and it really is hard to give one word that would get the opponent or your partner I should say, the word you’re looking for it by just saying one word. Challenge yourself and give it a try and see if you can do it. Thank you for having us on KZread again.
