If the male contestant in the second game had lost, they probably would have needed to bring him back on a future show. Back to back mistakes by Allen Ludden occur in that game favoring his opponent starting at ~13:26. The word is "cling". Her answer is "clinging". Chances are that she would have gotten the right answer, but Allen should have said "roughly a form of the word" and given her one chance to say the correct word. Either no one on the production staff caught it or they weren't able to alert him to do it. But something distracts Allen. Apparently they finally got his attention but by this time (~13:52) he says to someone off stage "Go ahead and play it?" Perhaps because he had already handed out the next word, it was too late to go back. But then he lets Tony give the first clue for that next word. Since his team was given credit for guessing the previous word, Carol should have given the first clue. But Tony's partner got it on the first clue, a ten point word giving them a 16-0 lead. But all's well that ends well. Carol and her partner ended up winning the game.

A lot of mistakes like that were made in the first version. I watch all 3 versions every day & notice how ridiculously picky they are some stupid things but then let other things slide. I enjoy super password the best, hosted by Bert convey. They have a lot of fun. Allen always wants to cut the laughter short & move on with the game. He was too serious.

@@lynettepalecek3141 Do they actually say that they will fly contestants out? Notice that New York-based shows have a lot of NYC-area contestants, and Los Angeles-based shows have a lot of Californians, because they didn't provide transportation. People from other areas would have to make it on their own--on Password, Allen Ludden often asked contestants from other states what brought them to New York.

11:40 The second male contestant looked as if he had no teeth. The movie "The Fool Killer" that Anthony Perkins mentioned as having just completed, wasn't released until April 1965. It's a very good movie, and one of his best from the 1960s.
