How to pass a knot in a Rope Rescue lower and raise using an AZTEK kit.

Nothing says fully locked off like a good ol overhand knot.

Why do you do a line ascent? Isn't it easier to place the Aztek near the descender and after passing the knot just release the Aztek?

I don’t understand what you mean by “line ascent”? I’m also kind of confused by your second question. Once passing the knot through the clutch I released the AZTEK until the clutch had the load. Then I could take the AZTEK off the main line. Are you asking about passing the knot during a lower or a raise?

Danger stall is saying you don’t need to haul….just lower your load onto the 4’s.
