For all those asking, these are a 'P21W' or '382' bulb. I replaced mine with some LEDs from Halfords (UK) and although these do not cause CAN bus errors it seems they are no longer available. This is a shame as they were expensive at £20 a pair but had a 3 year warranty. It is my understanding that these were made by Ring. Hope this helps in some way...

Useful thanks. On my Alltrack I found it easier to loosen the trim off from the outer side, then pull it directly forward. Note for others, the screw heads are torx with a slot. Use either a flat blade screwdriver or a couple of different torx drivers, preferably magnetic.

Thanks for the vid, I'm my case I started from inside of the trim by pulling those "wings" (that are bending in the vid) with my finger. Push wing inside with your finger and pull out trim with other hand, one wing and the other. Very easy and no tools required. Same when putting back, I started from putting inner side first. Hope it will help.

Just to mention,you can do the whole job with just patience,care, and 10mm wide straight blade screwdriver...VW were clever enough to put a slot across the t25 torx screw heads!!

Drive to your local VW dealership and head over to parts with the screw from your other side. They'll know what it is and theyll only be a dollar or two

very weird, as soon as I start the engine, there's an error appearing, but after I turn lights off so drl turn on it all disappear and after it doesn't come back.

@David Shields its because the LEDs are non-canbus. This means that they give out an error as if they were faulty. Next time buy LEDs with CANBUS compatibility or "error free".

@@Wello789 Or just ignore the bum light error. I've had one for years... because of a perfectly ordinary, non LED light (OEM) in the trunk. It's still on, but the car can't figure that out.

Yeah.. one of the reasons I'll never buy VW again. They made the simplest things - such as replacing a bad headlamp assembly or this DRL - so damn complicated you need a body shop just to change a light bulb.

@@MrWoods0_0 They are? The 1.8 turbo was *plagued* with problems, primarily the AC system and timing belt over-tensioning. They've ironed much of those out with the newer 2.0 turbos, however. OFC, now the rear lights and camera have all gone out, the radio hard-resets randomly, and the shift points are a little... strange.
