Passage Planning - How to make a passage plan (Select Charts & Publication from NP 131)

This is a video detailing a complete explanation of how to select Charts and publications from an Admiralty Chart Catalogue for a planned passage.
This is the first and primary work for a passage plan. Once you make a list, the rest is just drawing lines and joining waypoints.
Other videos have been uploaded detailing all reference publications and their corrections.
I hope you will find this useful for your future.

    Very informative and easy to understand... you have made passage plan look easy... I got to learn so many things here.. I appreciate your hard work and Sharing knowledge is not about giving people something, or getting something from them. That is only valid for information sharing. Sharing knowledge occurs when people are genuinely interested in helping one another develop new capacities for action; it is about creating learning processes. Thankyou

    Hello sir. Can you teach how to connect waypoints in next charts to use?

  • @prasobhsugadhan

    @prasobhsugadhan

    Жыл бұрын

    Sir, its simple to do. Use a small scale chart to find out an approximate route, along with consulting the routing chart (for that month) for general direction of course. Then start plotting courses on the small scale charts taking appropriate waypoints. (No need to draw lines of course, only waypoint is needed). Now, take the largest scale charts wherever required . Example, through a group of islands, a coastal passage, approach and TSS etc. Plot your waypoints and courses on these charts and check whether there is any obstruction coming up on or near the course line. In jist, this is the way to plot a course. Once you try plotting a couple of routes, you will find yourself familiar with the concept. Most important, try to take whole Lat/Long. Do not take decimals, as it will complicate the route planning when small and large scale charts are used together. Regards ❤️
