Awesome that both of you did this as a team. I made the course in my street and practiced on my dads iron head then I took the premier one day course in CA and passed on a Suzuki 250cc. Great day off of work for me!😊

Thanks I currently have my bike permit with 19 hours on it for 605 miles. I currently need to do my first tuneup in which I wish I could give it myself but I’m not that confident I’m a baby learning 200.Duke regret buying the bike, but for now I will do in regards to the test and get service and anxious and I can’t concentrate properly until I’m fully relaxed. I watched a bunch of videos and basically just looks like they’re gonna check my signals my switches, and then make me drive straight line, slow speed, more faster, speed without going out of the lines and without falling and then it looks like counterclockwise twice or swerve between the cones and then come counterclockwise. Come back in the line then it looks like they have me go back in the lines opposite direction twice and then come straight back out, but I’m going to San Isidro DMV tomorrow because the DMV is completely packed and I never been to San Isidro, I will try to drive tonight just to see what it looks like

Yes, another tip, make sure to follow the directions they give you, if you are unclear ask them to repeat. Especially when going in and out of the cones.

I wonder even with Honda Grom do you still need to counter balance (put weight on outside foot peg) and lean the bike to make the turn? I rented a Grom surprised that it was not that different from a much larger sport bike.

Just went to DMV after hours on a Grom to practice. First few times was fail. But eventually after an hour succeeded 5 in a row. Trick for me was to take off bulky gloves and use barehand for better throttle clutch, and watch out for ground sloping and add power to exit the last circle part. My test is tomorrow morning.

San Diegoian here as well, Still trying to convince my wife to get a grom lol.

Don’t convince her, just go out and find a good deal and show up with it and tell her it’s hers! That’s what I did with Kathy, and she loves it. Took her a few tries to pass the riding test but this practice session was great for her.

Do they ask you to flip headlights to high beam? My high beam don’t work no more or do they just ask where is the switch for low and high

I’ll he honest I don’t remember 100%, but I don’t think that is required. But likely if the high beam isn’t working, it’s your bulb, or the high beam fuse. Pretty easy fix…

There’s a website called Riders-share.com, check on there and see if you can find a bike locally. It’s a P2P bike rental website similar to Turo or Getaround.

Yes of course you can, you can use anything with a license plate. As small as a 50cc scooter to a bagger Harley.

The only thing categorized for an M2 is “mopeds”. Basically a bicycle with a motor. This allows kids 16 years old to get an M2 to ride it. M1 is needed for motorcycles (anything over 149cc) and motor-driven cycles (anything under 149cc).0

Hey, no this is the dmv in Hillcrest. The DMV in Claremont is locked when the DMV is closed, so if you are going to practice you’ll have to go to this one.

@@wideopenmoto I was literally practicing here today. I was like man that looks awfully similar to Hillcrest is it isnt.

Oh cool that’s the DMV I go to. The course is terrible at this DMV. there’s lots of gravel and poor quality asphalt, it’s also on a downward slope so half the circle your uphill half downhill. Btw the cones they use are tiny, so easier to weave.

Once u pass the Cmsp course you’ll have to wait for 6 months before they release the ID, my son is currently waiting for the 6 month period,he’s 19 though not sure if both applies to 21 above

Fastest way to get it and cheapest is 21 and up use a small bike like this at dmv. Only costs 38 dollars to add an m1 to your current class C license

From riders view she was not turning her head to look where the turn ends as is usually being taught. I guess you have to keep the lane in vision different from normal u turn

Did they request you shift gears ? Most scooters are automatics .???

There is no rules in what gear you ride in, or whether you use a scooter with an cvt (auto) clutch.

Yes sir, for the riding test. You’ll have a written test for your temp license. And need to take the riding test within 1 year.

@@johnnyDang223 wouldn’t underestimate the test, you have a tight circle and a narrow lane to keep your wheels within, can trip you up quickly. I took it on a KtM 1290 SAS and I was full lock handlebar and leaning hard to make that circle. Cone weave gave me an arm workout.

I think even with this Honda Grom she was leaning a bit from the riders view. The circle is 22ft diameter corresponding to 2.4 x standard parking space
