Sure. There's always a nicer way to say things. But, that's a courtesy or privilege that she can choose to extend if she feels like. As long as she's voicing out fair criticism and there's truth to what she's saying, there's nothing wrong with however she chooses to express it. Mammootty's fans trolling her just because a scene from his film was at the receiving end of the criticism is stupidity and hero worship at its worst! It can't be justified.

The same people who trolled and criticised her here, were so proud and calling her "Malayalam cinema's pride" and whatnot in the roundtable interview where she was with several Bollywood actors - and she openly criticised Arjun Reddy in front of Vijay Deverakonda. What I love about her is that, her take of 'socially responsible cinema' has been consistent.

She was right, Society was wrong. Time will tell that. But she lost her career on that. Some has to lose something to make changes.

Bravo!! Though she went thru a lot because of that interview she will be remembered down the line as the brave outspoken woman

She is right. Consciously or subconsciously movies we watch as we grow up will affect how we r going to see the world. Mainly most of these movie are also U certificated All age group of people would see this too. Group of people will normalize these things. More the famous you are more responsible & accountable on what kind of a message you going to leave via a movie to society. particularly while you act as a protagonist in a movie. as a big star in industry i think actor Mammoty has more say in script if he want, even if the director want another way.

@@jrb65 can u please mention the movie. I dont remember such a movie.Even if she act in a character where she acts intimate with her partner. U can follow her & be intimate with your partner. That will not affect the society. But the movie mentioned here which glorify the Mammootty as great police officer. his character harassing a female colleague in a sexiest way, this will normalize this kind of behavior in society. The people who grow watching this kind of movies finally will eve teasing your sisters or daughter. It will increase work place sexual abuse. It will increase rapes. Do u think rapes are about sexual need. No it is about dominating other person. That is what she is trying to say. When we act in a movie which glorify your character you got to be careful about what kind of content it is going to project.

Not a fan of Parvathy but completely agree with her on this. What he said in the movie might not be Mammooty’s personal opinion on women. But as an actor of his caliber, what he says in a movie will affect the thought process of many people. What is wrong in expecting him having a moral responsibility to the society that he is part of. He is past the phase where he has to act every role for survival in the industry. He is with gods grace in a position to tell the director no to certain dialogues and characters. Especially since he has a daughter himself he should do it. The fact that so many people are angry about what Parvathy said, speaks volume about the pathetic attitude of our society. Yeah. There are many dialogues and scenes that are against men too, glorifying men's gender roles, and more on. But we haven't heard anyone demonstrating about those issues. Also remembering a matrimonial ad saying "choodu coffee polulla varane kittaan" Isn't it male objectification? Personally I feels like film should be for entertainment, it can calm us down and soothe us by reducing our stress. And It's not for copying and applying it into reality. If you feel like otherwise, then both should be questioned considering they're human beings, not like women or men. And it's also remain as a question that how many of you'll watch films anymore, if fights,intimacy or even background stories that involving unnatural or immoral/irrational things will get banned.

More the famous you are more responsible & accountable on what kind of a message you going to leave via a movie to society particularly while you act as a protagonist in a movie. as a big star in industry i think actor Mammoty has more say in script if he want, even the director want another way. If it is just a new actor on a small role acting this way i would say it is 100% script & director.

There was nothing wrong in what she said. That movie was a pain to watch

what she said would have been relevant if mamootty said that to a lady in real life , but this was only a movie and just another character with some negative shades . she is a torch bearer for women's right but she herself has done glamour roles and scenes where a woman is sexualized .

അത് കൊണ്ടാണ് അവരെ villain enn വിളിക്കുന്നത്. അവർ injustice ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ അത് മോശമായി ആണ് ചിത്രീകരിക്കുന്നത്, അത് തെറ്റല്ല. എന്നാല് ഒരു hero യെ കൊണ്ട് injustice ആയ കാര്യങ്ങൽ ചെയ്ത അത് ഒരു heroism ആയി കാണിക്കുന്നതാണ് തെറ്റ്.

If he want to play a morally grey or villanish character he can.In the new movie he is playing a gay character which is a huge risk for a top actor like him but he still did it.
