We started eating and my mom didn't provide me with any cutlery as I always ate with hands. She saw that and she was shocked. In the end we proceeded to eating with our hands and she loved the dish and said how similar it was to her own mom's cooking. Food really brings countries together

Exactly, I saw a news article by business insider and they were like Somalia is worse than Yemen and Syria. This is false, we are struggling yes but only like Mogadishu. We are happy yet westerners pity us. We don’t need pity. And don’t you realise a connection? Every civil war, America gets involved and makes it worse. And many people argue about the land because Somalia is a gold and oil rich country like most of its neighbours such as Kenya and Ethiopia. Go search Mogadishu on google and war and corruption comes up. Then search xamar or muqdisho(Mogadishu but in Somali) and see what comes up.💓 🇸🇴

When I see this, it makes me some sort of homesick because I am a fierce dancer and really a family person. But I live in the Netherlands and here we just sit in a circle and talk about pretty boring stuff, at least that's my family on both sides. No dancing, no singing, no spicy food. I see more of this in my future when I have my own family, we sure will get down and be loud and proud!
