Real world feedback: I first used the Everse 8 on a solo acoustic gig. Small pub environment with about 60-70 people. I've used the Bose S1 Pro in this situation but there wasn't enough headroom so I thought I should probably bring one of my larger more powerful speakers just in case, but I didn't. Not only was the Everse 8 loud enough to adequately cover the room and cut thru the noise but the tonal quality of my voice and Martin guitar was excellent! Add in the convenience factor of not needing an external mixer or power cable and this one is hard to beat. Next day I had an outdoor gig with a full band. They only have 2 stage monitors for the 2 lead vocalists so it's always difficult singing harmonies with them as I can't really hear myself. So I plugged my mic directly into the Everse 8, set my level and ran the thru output to their sound system. Worked like a charm, I could clearly hear myself and was able to add harmonies effortlessly. Normally with a device in this price range I don't like the built-in effects but these sound really good and are totally usable. I should add that I did these two gigs on a single charge! So don't think twice about the Everse 8, it's alright - BUY IT!

Someone wrote: I gigged for twelve years with an AER compact and busked with an AER compact mobile, fine amps. About five weeks ago I bought a Bose S1. I sold it after three weeks and bought an Everse 8. I've tested it out already seven times in demanding situations and I find it way way better then the Bose. Much better bass and volume, loads more eq controls, effects, phantom power etc. The voice channel, which I find weak in my AERs, sounds just great, I got also very positive impressions from fellow musicians.

Another reviewer's comment Bose S1Pro/Everse: For me, having the app control and the additional output were the clear advantages. I have had my S1 Pro since 2018 and it has serviced me very well. I do have 3 of the S1 Pros and will still keep 2 of them. I think they’re a very useful utility speaker. The EV is definitely louder, but my opinion is that the Bose sounds better at low to mid volume. Once you get near limiting, the EV pulls ahead by quite a large margin. Also the Bose distorts when a track is playing that has bass frequencies below its capability. The EV does a much better job when it’s limiting. Lastly, I love how it comes in white. I’m only using this for wedding ceremonies, so having it in white is a bonus that I welcome.

User comments: I've had the Everse 8 for about a month os so. Used it for cocktail hour and ceremonies. The sound is phenomenal. I've had the JBL Eon 1, sold it ! I have the Mackie Thump GO. there is no comparison. The features that stands out is the sound, and the controls compared to the JBL. There is nothing I dislike about this speaker ! I’ve used the JBl Eon Compact and the Bose S1. This EV Blows them away. And really it’s all because of the app. I’ve had problem with the JBL and the Bose with sound quality, control in the app and linking. Not so with the EV. The app is amazing and the bluetooth connection is super reliable. I controlled this EV at a distance of 100’ with no dropout at all. Streaming music from my phone and controlling the speaker with my phone through the app, it worked flawlessly. The built in effects are quality. I’ve had problems with all other models. The weight of this unit is superior. Thanks EV for developing this reliable platform!

Unexpectedly Awesome I was looking for keyboard gig/monitor solution for over a year and tried a lot of different products. Most were either too heavy, awkward to carry, lack of EQ controls, lousy sound - too bottom heavy, etc. I have two keyboards I use on a regular basis, so I wanted at least two inputs, and having a 3 band or better EQ was a requirement. The Everse 8 has a nice little mobile app to manage EQ and other settings without having to go to the back of the speaker to manage settings in the little display with a knob. This thing puts out a very clear and strong sound without even tweaking the EQ. I tested organs with heavy bottom end along with various pianos that had great mid and high range clarity. Volume in the room was great. Of course it's not intended to be a large venue amp, but I'm adding a second unit to provide additional power plus ability to set up across wide stages so the other half of the band can hear me - and that 2nd unit can be controlled from the app if they want more or less volume from me. At 17 pounds, these are amazing and easy to carry around for small gigs and easy to expand for larger ones. Easy to send signal to a house system too using XLR or 1/4".

Real world feedback: Electro-Voice Everse 8 Unbelievably loud on battery power with my passive pickup plugged directly into the High-Z input on Channel 2. Smartphone/tablet app controlled mixer, full band eq, phantom power, compression, reverb, delay, IP43 rated weather resistance..etc. Played a nightmare of a brewery for live sound with a single one high on a stand in the corner and it delivered loud and clear sound throughout the place. Played an outdoor gig downtown and people said the sound could be heard from blocks away. EV nailed it!

Everse 8 Preliminary Impressions. This is the first installment of my review that compares the Everse 8 to the QSC K8.2. My main motivation in trying out the EV is due to weight. It weighs 16.8 lbs/7.6 kg compared to the K’s 27 lbs/12.2 kg. I understand EV is marketing this as a DJ/Busker speaker for battery use, but I think it has potential as a high quality keyboard amp that just happens to be battery powered. I primarily play piano for a few big bands, as well as some small combo jazz groups. Acoustic piano is my main sound, but I do use Rhodes sounds as well as B3 from time to time. On my Nord Stage, I primarily use the White Grand and Amber Upright samples. My main EP is the EP2, Mk I Suitcase Close Ideal with a few tweaks. For the B3, I tend to favor a Jimmy Smith type of sound profile. I don’t play rock at all, so there will no volume wars content in this review. The closest I came was playing in a jazz fusion band, but it’s been a few years and we will most likely not revive it anytime soon. The point is that my goal is never to “cut through the mix”, but rather to blend in, compliment the band, and stand out for my solo moments. Overall, I prefer a warmer, darker acoustic piano presence. Nord keyboards are notoriously fussy about their amplification (no secret to anyone here), and the K series has been generally accepted as a standard bearer in this price range. That being said, it’s taken a little bit of EQ tweaking on the speaker to reduce the “honkyness” that seems to befall most other amplifiers/speakers, although it’s not completely gone. The upside is that the K’s are plenty powerful and have great projection. They sound better from 10 meters away than they do from 1 meter. This review is purely a subjective impression about how the EV compares to the QSC for my particular application. I’m not going to talk about specs and things you can find elsewhere, but rather focus on what I’m experiencing and hearing. I will also not try to record a sound quality comparison, as that is an exercise in futility. My typical configuration is to run audio cables from Outputs 1 and 2 (the default L and R) on the Stage into the A and B inputs on the speaker. This connection method will continue for the time being. Initial Setup - Home The first thing that impresses you about the EV is the weight - it’s amazingly light, making you wonder if it can really handle a load. It’s also a bit shorter than the QSC: Image Both speakers have a floor monitor mode, where they kick back horizontally. The upside on the EV is that you can still access the connections and controls; this is not really possible on the QSC due to the angle of the panel when set up as a floor wedge. Image The EV also has a vertical “kickstand” mode, which may be good for buskers; the QSC can’t do that on its own. For the initial home test, I connected my Stage to a small mixer, put each speaker on a stand, sent the mixer’s L output to the QSC and the R output to the EV. Both were placed right next to each other about 2 meters away and facing me directly. The QSC channel gain is set to the level I keep it at for rehearsals (at about the 1:00 position), and left the EV to its default volume setting (0 dB according to the display). Both EQs were set to flat to start. My normal setting for the QSC has the treble and midrange (1kHz) turned down a bit to reduce the shrill. I set the EV to “Live” mode. The DSP offers four sound modes, which the frequency response chart in the manual details. I could not make out a significant sound difference on my piano samples between the “live” and “music” settings. To compare them, I simply played through one, turned it off and other other speaker on, and then played some more. Not incredibly scientific. The volume levels seem to be very similar from that distance, which is a good start. The true volume test will be at Monday’s full band rehearsal. The sound quality difference was much more noticeable. The QSC has a much brighter treble in the flat setting, while the EV yielded what I consider to be more natural and warmer acoustic piano reproduction, very similar to what my studio monitors produce. While this was more pleasing to my ears, I have a suspicion that the crispy nature of the QSC is what allows the treble to project over distance in a live setting. Also, at flat EQ, the honkyness of the QSC comes out more emphatically. Again, this is, to me, part of why Nord keyboards are so hard to amplify. The K.2’s have been much less offensive than other products, but the EV outshines it here. Nord EP’s are less fussy about their amplification, and they play very well though the EV. Clarity and richness all come through quite well across all the EP samples. For the B3, the body and gutsiness come through nicely. It’s a bit bright at the flat setting, but that is very easily taken care of on the Nord. I tried some other sounds in clouding B3, sampled bass, some strings and sample synth sounds. Bass is surprisingly abundant and not what I was expecting for the size and weight. Everything else sounds just as good as through the QSC to my ears. Again, Monday’s rehearsal will reveal more. The DSP and the App Pretty comprehensive DSP in the Everse 8. I’m not going to detail everything here, but want to just mention the EQ. In addition to the top level low/mid/high settings, there is a global EQ in the mixer section that can work in either as a graphic or parametric EQ. THE GEQ supports 7 bands at 63, 160, 400, 1k, 2.5k, 6k and 12k. Simple up/down sliders here and EV doesn’t mention the Q settings, but I assume they’re nothing out of the ordinary. The PEQ is also 7 bands, defaulted to the frequencies in the GEQ, but you can adjust the center frequency, Q and curve type (low/high shelf/low/high pass or just a regular curve). So you can go as simple or as deep as you’d like on sound shaping. The speaker also has a decent selection of 30 effects, mostly reverbs, echo, delay and chorus with some combinations. The level is selectable for input channels 1 and 2. Doubt I’ll use these, so I’m not going to comment on them here. The EV has an available app called “QuickSmart” which allows you to manage most settings over Bluetooth. It allows you to dig deep into the speaker’s OS and modify all the settings from your device. Nice to not have to dig through menus from the behind the speaker when you need an adjustment. I should point out that there are three types of Bluetooth connections supported by the EV. The first is the control connection to use the app, the second is the streaming connection to send music to the speaker from a phone or tablet, and the third to connect wirelessly to another EV speaker. The speaker-to-speaker connection is not restricted to just another Everse; you can connect to several EV Bluetooth speakers. From what I understand from others, the speaker-to-speaker Bluetooth feature only works when you're streaming music via Bluetooth; it doesn't work if you're hardwired into one speaker and the other is wireless. If I ever own two, maybe I'll test this out.

Three observations of Everse 8 : When you turn off the speaker Bluetooth connection is lost and you have to go to settings again and select speaker. Both Bose and JBL boot up right away no hassle. EV has a limit light on front which is really nice to see when to turn down from a distance. JBL only has limit light on the App and Bose has no Limit light. The Mix Out on the Everse does transmit signal on Bluetooth, only the Mackie has this problem.

Fantastic review, thanks. I’ve used the Bose and own the JBL. That extra input is very important to me but I’m curious to hear the sound. In my experience, the JBL sacrifices the loudness for more bass/a better bass response. I’ll sometimes EQ the low end out (or change it from music mode to speech mode) to get more SPL if I need it for wedding ceremonies etc. One of my K10.2s failed last night and I used the Eon One Compact as a main, highpassed at 80Hz to pair with the JBL VRX918SPs and it got pretty loud.

Comment from customer: NEXT GENERATION PA SPEAKER I traded in a Bose S1Pro and took this home without auditioning it. At first I just hooked up my cell phone by Bluetooth and listened to tracks from various genres on Spotify. I was kind of dismayed at what I felt was lack of high fidelity sound. I was even considering returning it! Then I thought, hey, EV would surely not make an inferior audio product! So I learned about the various EQ settings, realized I had chosen a flat and lifeless EQ curve and corrected it, and tried again. The speaker provides numerous presets to suit one's needs. The EQ settings on the vocal line 1 can be set differently than the background music. What a difference! Superb sound. But the best part was yet to come. The S1Pro, and even my JBL Eon One, have inadequate microphone preamps with poor volume. Not the Everse8; not only the volume is far superior, but the clarity is excellent as well. I don't play guitar so I can't talk about guitar sound. But vocals and background tracks for karaoke/cover singing is just superb. I just sing karaoke at home and during gatherings with friends, but am very fussy about high quality sound. I listened to a friend sing from about 40 feet away, and the sound was so clear with excellent volume. And oh, I almost forgot: the QuickSmart app (both my phone and tablet are Android devices) is superb, giving great control over much of the features. It uses Bluetooth independently from Bluetooth Audio. Comparing sound quality from a 3.5 mm cable and Bluetooth, I found it hard to tell the difference. But with a group of friends, it is far more convenient to use the 3.5 mm audio in rather than Bluetooth. The Everse8 is exactly what the audio doctor ordered! Congratulations, EV on your first battery powered speaker; it is outstanding!

KZread comment: So I pulled it out of the box and spent a couple of hours exploring and experimenting with EQ, the heart and core of this speaker. Once I mastered that (well, to whatever extent I could) I found the speaker to be outstanding, and far superior to the Bose S1Pro that I had traded in. I seriously think that after a STEEP LEARNING CURVE, this speaker is likely the finest battery powered speaker available, but obviously the column array ones are a different breed costing $500 more. Will I ever need the Sub1...extremely unlikely for vocals with some karaoke/cover backing tracks. I traded in the Bose S1Pro because of its pathetically poor Mic Preamps. I had to use a mixer with it, as if I plugged in a dynamic mic into one of the XLR inputs, I barely got enough volume to fill a 15x20 foot room. The Everse 8 is far superior from that standpoint.

That EV is a beast. For something that is Rechargeable and you can lug around, lt's a winner with no peers. I have a Harbinger Vari 2000W speaker in my garage, Max Output SPL: 127dB. When I "blast" it, the master volume is only on 1/2 or a lil past that and IT IS LOUD! I play Techno, Trance, House, Rap, Country, R&B. It’s ideal to have 15 inch tops and 18 inch subs. But not everyone has the space for that and sometimes setup time is a huge factor. Some of us musicians carry and setup our own gear and there are times where we have less than 5 minutes to setup and we have just a couple minutes to teardown and go to the next gig. Small battery powered speakers are a game changer for some of us.

Brought it out for an outdoor performance at a party and was surprised that I had to just about crank the mic volume for it to be sufficiently loud. I purchased a Samson XP208w (not sure how familiar anybody on here is with that model ???) the volume was powerful when playing music via Bluetooth etc but when using the the microphone every time I pushed the volume past around 70% the whole speaker would cut out, so then I would have to turn off and then turn back on again. At first I thought this was a fault with the wireless mic but again the same thing happened with a wired one, to my surprise though when the system was plugged in it never cut out once, this was really disappointing because that just proves the speaker itself could actually handle the volume but some reason when not plugged in and portable it couldn’t!!! I'm not a vocalist so this is my best recommendation from other's findings. The Bose S1Pro and the JBL Compact have weak preamps on the mic channel and people report needing to bring a small mixer to boost the signal. At lower volumes the Bose S1Pro is popular with singer/acoustic guitar duo's. EV has a very clean high end and excellent reverbs for vocals. It is so new I haven't heard any real world feedback from gigging musicians. If you don't need internal battery or reverb the QSC CP8 has a good reputation for vocals. More $$$ AC only, Bose Pro8 and EV 30m are the next step up. Check out the Acoustic Guitar Forum: www.acousticguitarforum.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=16

More expensive, longer and heavier, same inputs, menu controls, rain protection, It goes louder, has battery and Bluetooth, more bass, more versatile EQ and has USB and 12 volt power output sockets My S1 is enough for me, although I could use another mic input or two and a master volume.

Testing today discovered a huge difference! EV has a High Pass filter option that the S1Pro does not have. I engaged 100 Hz and ran it with a subwoofer. This cuts the low frequencies from the Everse that are not heard when running with a sub. This means you can play the Everse to higher SPL before clipping at the same time with less distortion. This is a huge difference for DJ's or live band situations. The EV Everse is really a large step up from the Bose S1Pro and the Mackie Thump Go. I'm not sure if the JBL Compact has the High Pass filter option?

The JBL has 6 band and 8 band (global) eq. You just cut the low frequencies at the Hz you want. Easy to set up and once done you can save upto 8 different settings. The sound is so much better when its set up properly. The JBL also DOES go up to 20Khz and also goes down to 35Hz which is easily the best of this bunch for low end. Ive noticed many on KZread review it but have no idea that they need to set the EQ. The EV certainly gets lots of good reviews and is the loudest of the bunch, but the Bose is lacking somewhat in shaping the sound to your taste, and has more limited input options. Great sound out of the box but not much else. Also, The USB sockets on the JBL can power your pedals/wirless mic if needed too.

People ask which is loude Everse or Mackie Thump Go? Mackie is louder than the Bose S1Pro. Actual dB max level is about 101dB before clipping for both. The difference is at clipping the Mackie sounds harsh. The EV even though clipping red sounds perfectly clean with much headroom left. Called EV and they said at clipping you still have +6dB before damaging the speaker. +6dB is more than two Mackie's!

I’m looking for a pair of small lightweight speakers for live acoustic music. I’m currently using a pair of Alto TS210’s which I have used for vocals, piano and electric bass/upright bass. I have also used a Bose S1 for very small events for vocals and piano. These speakers worked surprisingly well for these events but I’m interested to hear the EV Everse8, RCF HD10a and FBT Promaxx 110a to see how they compare. I’m looking for the best upgrade over the Alto TS210’s that weighs under 25lbs.

Reviewer comment: I posted a review of the Everse8 on Sweetwater which they published a couple of days ago. Not sure why reviewers are obsessed with speaker volume, whereas what is HIGHLY IMPORTANT, is the CLARITY and FIDELITY of a PA speaker chosen for the size of an audience and the surroundings. People quickly get sick of heavy thumping bass! :) For four years I've had a Bose S1Pro which has PATHETICALLY POOR microphone Preamps!!! So I've used a mixer with it as that is the only way I could get decent volume. Whereas the Everse8, wow, a whole new breed of PA speaker! The EQ adjustments available are just amazing. Which makes me realize that the audio quality of a PA speaker is entirely dependent on EQ settings. Even the elementary settings of treble, mid and bass belong to yesteryear!!! I also have an Eon One (the first one) and I love its sound quality but again, you only get its best with a mixer. Pretty poor Mic preamps on it too! The Eon One is big, fat and heavy so it just stays at home for karaoke! :) If I want to replace it I'd consider the JBL Eon One Mk2 for $1250.

Hi! I want to ask you something. The maximum sound pressure of the Everse 8 SPL is 121 dB when all three volume controls are set to maximum? From the main speaker page + from the Bluetooth audio channel + The main volume? I was so amazed listening to metallica on a street volume test that I almost fell over from the sound wave, as if a hurricane, tornado and tsunami swept by at the same time

I've never tested with all three inputs at the same time. Don't be fooled by the 121dB spec. That is measured at 1 meter in a specially treated acoustic room. I would say 105dB indoors would be max. I actually called EV tech support, and they said when you see the red clip light you still have 3dB more headroom before any distortion or possible damage. Yes, a 18 lbs Tornado!

Great user input: Have briefly heard the JBL and the Mackie Thump Go. Mackie is ok for the money and being a cheaper option, but no reverb if that's important and it's not the best sounding. JBL is overpriced and not in the running. JBL would beat Mackie if it was priced in the $400 range like Mackie. Bose S1Pro sounds better than JBL and Mackie, IMO. Have used my friend's pair of S1Pros for several gigs - wedding ceremonies and one small wedding reception. For the ceremonies, we were running them flat out, no headroom, they're just not loud enough. For example, at one event, the pair of S1Pros had issues getting loud enough so that the wedding party could hear to start the march from the barn to the reception area. For the reception, we had a powered Mackie sub, the Bose's had everything over 100Hz. Bose did better without having to deal with bass, but again, were flat out. Buddy uses the S1Pros in small churches for his gospel quartet. He's a Bose fan, also has Sub1s and Sub2s, and some Bose columns as well. I bought a used pair of Yamaha DBR10's which solved the headroom issue, never used the S1Pros again for events. Power the DBRs off of a small 300w+ battery pack, no issues. Now have a pair of JBL EON One MK2 columns as well as my new go-to for ceremony use. I bought an Everse 8, tested head-to-head with my DBR10s, EON One MK2, buddy's S1Pro, and just for giggles, my RCF J8 column. Everse 8 was much louder/had much more headroom than the Bose. Sounded a lot better after EQ tweaking as well. Buddy agreed, he wants to sell the S1Pros to get a pair of Everses. Again...the Bose addict wants the Everses over his S1Pros. For me, the Everse was great, but not $750 worth of great. For less money, I have the DBR10, battery pack, and Behringer Flow8 mixer...much more capability for cheaper price...the only con is it's obviously not all in one speaker box. I ended up sending the Everse back, great speaker, but didn't do anything that I already had covered for cheaper. I feel Everse is overpriced. If it was close to $500? Yeah, I would have kept it and possibly bought another one. I think Everse sounded a bit better than the DBR10, but again my DBR was way less than half the price used. DBR has way more volume and headroom. Everse in no way gets close to published SPL specs. EON One MK2 column sounded better and was louder than Everse...but is $1200. RCF J8 blows them all out of the water, as you would expect. FYI, the Everse8 also has the stereo BT music linking option. Also has onboard delay if you need to set them up as the delay speakers you mentioned. Bottom line: JBL EON One MK2 is the best single-unit battery powered speaker IMO. Everse 8 is easily the best small 'lunchbox-sized' battery powered PA speaker.

Of course... that new EV came out 2 weeks later and I probably would have taken a serious look at them but when I pulled the trigger on the 2 Bose, I knew I liked the sound, the dials, because I'm old school that way and the fact when couples see I'm using bose at their ceremony, most have been told Bose is one of the best, so they believe they are getting the best possible sound. I do also agree with you, they do actually sound very nice . Very smooth, not harsh at all and I love the form factor. That said , I am looking forward to hearing the EV for myself

Unless you need the features of the EV the S1Pro sounds almost as good. I just finished a comparison video that will be out shortly. EV stays clean at clipping volumes say 100dB where Bose gets very harsh and the smaller 6" woofer distorts sooner. If you are not pushing close to red on the Bose, sound wise in a live situation very little sound difference! Also Bose has the better 120 degree dispersion.

When I came back it sounded like something was very wrong! I realized the Compact went into sleep mode, in turn also cutting the signal to the sub. I had to go behind the speaker and press and hold the button. Sub came back on with a loud pop! I believe I read there is no way to adjust this or turn it off. This was in the middle of a gig. But if I were buying today I'd choose the EV Everse 8. It's vastly more capable with an extensive built-in mixer. The S1 just has reverb, bass and treble (not even mid), and no master volume. It has some auto-fixed Tonematch settings that can definitely help tone but in terms of EQ overall it's like a caveman's flint-stone compared to the nuclear reactor of the Everse. The Everse is louder if you need that, and only a little heavier. It's weather-resistant which can be ideal for those backyard BBQs when it starts drizzling. It has a DC 12v output (not like in cars, but for wireless mic setups) and a USB-C charging port. More importantly for most of us, with some EQ tweaking most users report it sounds amazing. The only S1 advantages I can think of are, if you like it, "the Bose sound" (I do), wider dispersion, and lower price. Especially now since Bose I just noticed is having one of their periodic mark-downs, and it's running at $599, $100 off. Everse 8 is $749. I also find the EV line's design a little industrial and think the sleek S1 is a better fit visually in my home. I use it mainly for podcasts. Another to consider is the JBL Eon One Compact, its main advantage being more inputs--2 combos, one 1/4-inch, one 1/8th-inch which would mostly be for streaming. The Bose and Everse have two legit combo inputs plus the eighth-inch. The JBL has a widely derided app but I've read here it's going to be updated. $629 at Guitar Center.

Before they came out with the new MK2 they blew it out for $600! On the other hand EV hasn't budged from their introductory price of $750 so I don't think its just because of less demand in this Portable Battery PA segment.

Hello All good? I have the JBL EON ONE and I'm thinking of going for the EV, I only use it for small events for a few people and I don't have a SUB, so the bass is very important for my use, does the EV get better bass than the JBL? Or are they very similar in that regard? Very grateful in advance!

in songs with more subbass does it distort like the bose s1? making a sound like the speaker is about to burst? I'm changing the jbl eon for the bose s1 and both distort when on bluetooth in songs with a little more sub bass like drake/dua lipa for example, i'm about to go for a domestic line like partybox, but if everse plays without distortion i'll get one, If you can help me I'll be grateful.

@@burn3649 The EV Everse 8 is louder with better bass than the Bose S1Pro or JBL Compact. Everse has a super clean high end at max volume with zero distortion. To get the bass you are looking for you really need to pair a 8"PA speaker with a small 10-12" subwoofer. Check out the JBL Partybox 310. Less expensive than the EV, with better bass. If you don't mind the weight? I have the JBL 110. It has excellent bass but doesn't get very loud.

Viewer comment: In response to some folks posting that the Bose S1 Pro wasn't loud enough, especially in the vocals department. Since loud and soft are relative terms I decided to measure actual decibel levels. The app I used is called Decibel X. It's a must app for all musicians. In this video, my vocal (Shure SM 58) volume is set at 3/4 with 1/4 reverb, which I changed to 1/2 after viewing this video and my instrument volume is at 1/2. What I discovered was this battery operated, 15 lb. speaker is not as loud as my my 39 lb. JBL EON615 which puts out 127 db max. SPL or my 41 lb. JBL EON One line array which puts out 118 db max. SPL. NO, this unit puts out only 103 db peak (did I mention it only weighs 15 lbs.) What does it all mean you ask? SPL stands for Sound Pressure Level and it's the primary objective unit of measure for output (NOT Watts). Continued exposure to SPL above 90 dB can cause permanent hearing damage. Remember that dB levels drop the further away from the source... the goal is to have a level of 85 dB max where the listener is, thus the reason these units have a rating of over that, which gives you some head room. I also discovered that this unit is ideal for small rooms with 40-50 people or busking. It's size and weight make this unit very, very convenient especially for solo or duo musicians/singers.

😮 ❤ finally heheh 🤭 compare to the party box 110 or all battery you have would be appreciated ,wow I liked the jbl too didn’t know that it had effects . One disappointed I had on one mixer digital is that it runs on software wireless so upon my iPad update now app crashes ( yes I have one pc way to connect and work ) but it’s been 5-7years and in an event the app crashes which speaker will work w out any app on gains EQ and all the most reliable again there will be a time maybe it come charge having the ability to power even w out battery would be a great test you should attempt to do ! No one will try it 😂 everyone is scare and or might never think problems happen on events 😂

For wedding DJs: the Bose's mic preamp is weak. I would never use a single speaker for a lav mic for more than maybe 70ppl at a ceremony. The buttons/dials on the EV One are useless in full sunlight. The EV might rock...haven't tried it, but it's pricey. I was happily surprised by the Mackie. It's not as "musical" as the Bose, but it has about double the mic output of the Bose. It is my auxiliary speaker for everything now. Not only are they powerful enough for ceremonies, I also throw a Sennheiser XSW wireless kit on them and use them to throw toast audio to satellite speakers at the back of the room for large receptions.

With your permission, I'll bother you again) I also have a JBL Eon One Compact 2020, which has a claimed power of 150 watts. Its lithium-ion battery has a capacity of 6100 mAh at an operating voltage of 14.8 volts. The power of this battery is 90.28 wh. Now Everse 8. The power of the amplifier is 400 watts, the capacity of the lithium-ion battery is 6000 mAh, the voltage is 14.4 volts. The power is 86.4 wh. What's happening? Due to the almost 2.5 times greater power of the Everse 8 amplifier compared to the power of the JBL amplifier (400 vs. 150) and the slightly lower power of the Everse 8 battery compared to the JBL battery (86.4 vs. 90.28), manufacturers of both speakers claim the same operating time at an average volume of 12 hours and a maximum volume of 6 hours. But according to such data, this cannot be the case. Don't you think so? I agree that Everse 8 is more powerful and louder than JBL, I have seen this from personal experience, comparing them on the street, but alas, this is due to the loss of autonomy. Not everyone knows about it. Otherwise, it doesn't scare me. The main thing for me is the sound and the Everse 8 has it better. It is necessary to use it wisely, optimizing it for your needs.
