While backing into my RV port after a camping trip the power steering hose burst near the steering box. I had a new 39ft 4300 psi hose made at IMH in Jacksonville, FL. They also wrapped it with a spiral heavy duty plastic wrap to protect from chaffing. This is a Cummins 8.3 ISC on the Freightliner XC Motorhome chassis.
This job took me almost 2 full days to complete. This would have costs thousands to repair if it had happened on the road. This repair applies to power steering hose replacement on all diesel pusher motorhomes made by Monaco, Tiffin, Newmar, Fleetwood, American Coach, Holiday Rambler, Alfa, Damon, Winnebago, Coachman, Country Coach, Thor, National RV, etc. on Freightliner and Spartan chassis.
This hose routing method should also work for replacing motorhome leveling jack hoses.
