Pree, I am a biological male and I'm glad that I had only one experience with a catheter and that was when I had surgery for an enlarged prostate and bladder stones. I had the surgery in the morning and when I woke up after the surgery, a Foley catheter was in for the rest of the day and overnight in the hospital. The catheter was taken out the next morning. I returned home on the day following the surgery and chose not to have a catheter. Recovery was eight weeks of wetting my pants several times a day and discovering and trying in order, pads, pullups, and eventually tabbed diapers, starting with drugstore brand, ordering medical brands online, then discovering higher capacity ABDL diapers. I can get by now with a male pad, but there are times I like to wear diapers to bypass using dirty public restrooms and at home to not have to interrupt online meetings. Also at home there are times when I enjoy the feel of a diaper, along with the increasing bulk and weight as it gets wetter.

@@Fetishmale On that morning I was discharged I feel like I was given the bums's rush out so they could get someone else in the bed. I almost think that the nurse didn't drive to work in a car but rode a broom instead, insulting me when I tried following the doctor's orders. There was a very quick meeting with some other nurse and I turned down going home with a catheter and declined a home health aide. They even hated that my family friend who was my chauffeur took more than five minutes to come and pick me up. After a few days I phoned the cousin I was closest to, who is a retired RN who for a while was head nurse of a geriatric floor of a hospital. I followed her advice and started using pads and pullups, then a bit later started exploring tabbed diapers with a transition period of using belted shields as I became familiar with diaper tab placement.

@@maidjadeanne2070 Im sorry, you had to experience at the hospital, I also experienced somewhat stressed doctors, and some super stressed once... Not the best I was mostly just curious as to why, it took "so long" for someone to do something, to reduce the wet pants and bed, but then again, i'm certainly not much better, and in my case diapers/pull-up was something i already had, and was on my radar

Don't ever feel embarrassed about things you cannot control. If you have an accident while out and about, that's ok. Just consider it as that it's not the last time that it may happen. Go out there and rock your diaper and rock yourself. You're stronger than you know!

I am incontinent with urinary retention and am all too familiar with the pain that you talk about. I refuse to use catheters and use diapers instead. I don't have an obstruction or anything, just a neurogenic bladder. I have some tricks to get my bladder to release. Maybe you can try them out if you have an issue again. For me, being stressed or just uncomfortable makes it worse, so getting my body to relax is key. Something that works for me every time is getting in a hot shower. I typically wake up in the morning with a full bladder, and a hot shower does the trick. Another thing that works well, especially if I've been sitting at a desk for a few hours, is to stand up, stretch, and crack my back. What works for me might not work for you, but I hope this helps. Good luck! 👍

One thing I absolutely love about your channel is how educational it is in videos like this! It really is like "Come for the diapers, stay for the medical journey" for me as an ABDL, lol. I'm so glad you're so open about everything like this because it helps understand your condition. I know your journey isn't like everyone with MS, but it's still eye opening to see what it's like as someone who doesn't have that condition.

Full disclosure, I am an DL male, but i also have some back problems, that ended my up in the hospital, with amount my back problems, also cause me to have urinary/bowl retention becauseof the pain (still “kind of do” sometimes, long story, but on a smaller scale) and ended up with a with a catheter for 4 days, it was “great” (a real life saver at the time, yes really!) when you are “locked in bed”, but not when you are moving around/walking/standing, so would 100% preferred a diaper, even a small cath into a diaper (?) with the pulled on the long tub, in! your private parts, and a big bag of pee with you at all time, or on display on your hospital bed, a diaper is nothing! imo

Hi Pree, Great video as always! I've had Foleys put on me twice during hospitalizations done by really competent nurses and they still hurt like a MF... they're also super uncomfortable as a guy too, if you accidentally pull on it it hurts like hell. I rather deal with diapers than to go trough that again. As for measuring pee output without the catheter bag, its less precise but they had a neat little trick were they after changes weigh the diaper before disposing of it... 1gram is roughly equivalent to 1 milliliter of pee. Keep being awesome! 🖤💜🖤

I do have neurogenic detrusor overactivity, (NDO), it is technically an "OAB", and sometimes a reflective bladder as well. My NDO is very painful, perhaps i do have Interstitial Cystitis as well, that is not diagnosed yet, because i am male and the urologists say: "Men do not get that." I do get Botox now, to calm down the bladder, but this causes retention and i have to do ISC. Diapers and catheters have definitely different pro and cons, during the summer i do prefer catheters, but they are not the Foley-type usually, mostly i do only intermittent catheterization (ISC). I do use the Foley when stuff is really bad and my pelvic floor feels like concrete, i can handle all by myself and would not let anybody do that for me in the future as long as i am capable of it. My tip: Learn how to to do ISC, just in case, it is much better than a Foley.

This has happened to me back in 2012 while I was on the road (in a semi) and it was so BAD that I had to go to the Emergency Room, because of the PAIN. This was also, before I was diagnosed w/PPMS and after they inserted the Foley Catheter... WOW!... What a relief to finally being able to GO to the Bathroom! 😁 Then I wore this Cath for about Two wks. when I got Home my GP remove it. And shortly after that my OAB started to rear it's head and my Flood Gate would just open at the most unwanted Time, after having some embarrassing accidents in Public I started wearing protection during the day and as for Night I already was having accidents and had been wearing almost every night for about two yrs. Great video Pree!! "And Don't STOP Putting them BLOOPERS at the END"! 😅😂🤣😁 "TAKE CARE"!🖤
