Its a condition where a babies bowel is blocked at birth by extremely sticky content. It very common to happen to babies born with Cystic Fibrosis. Hope this helps Paul :)

I think awarness is great dont get me wrong. But i think loose women should show what end stage cf is really like. Like not being able to walk, having to be washed by some one, looking pretty awfull and feeling like your sufficating, as thats whats happening. This loose women interview puts across that we need a transplant but hospitals fine because we have hot nurses. Its great to be upbeat, but the people waiting lung transplants are left in limbo, wondering if lungs will come or they will take there last breath. There not sitting there writting songs and playing guitar and going on day time talk shows. The message that needs to be put out is, end stage is horrific, cruel and torture. Not just for the patient, but for all around them. Ive lost count of the people i have known and seen go. So i do know what im talking about.

Hi Paul, I appreciate what you're saying, but i personally feel there is enough of the sad and depressing side of CF out there. I know exactly what its like to have End stage CF, I have it... Currently waiting for a double lung Transplant. I think people find it more inspiring to see someone enjoying what they have and making the most of it, and turning such a negative into positive, much more than just watching someone talk about how awful their life is... But thats my personal opinion. Hope you're keeping well, and hope your doing okay, sorry to hear about the loss' you have suffered :) X

To be honest, and speaking to alot of end stage people, they feel because your playing guitar and jumping out from trees and singing doesnt portray the reality of it, and alot feel quite patronised and feel cf isnt taken seriously enough. And there really isnt much out there that shows the trauma of the situation. Good on you for doing what you can do. The vast majority cant do that. To the average person on the street who sees loose women, they will think hes not doing to bad.

LW is an entertainment show......... Life is about doing the best you can. There are many who can't do what Charlie does and that's sad and distressing but surely anything that raises the profile of CF sufferers must be good? Negative vibes just turn people off, they stop watching and the message fails to get through.
