    Solid video!! Absolutely do a Part 2 on the Punisher vs The Lowballer! You should test the Destroyer!! That was a very fair and honest test session that you did in this video. No shock to me that it did not hold up to the 1400 watts for very long!

    Waiting for part 2. Good work, learned alot from your videos. There is very little way of getting honest reviews online, most ppl are blind brand followers. So a real-world testing of popular subs really appreciated. Thank you for being unbiased, keep up the good work. 🙌

    I paused the video @ 2:31 to make my prediction, place my bet... I'm putting my money on the LowBaller 12. 🤯😳🤯 Yep, I said it. I could be wrong 🤷‍♂️ Yeah the Rockville sub has a bigger coil & bigger motor BUT every body says that their glue is faulty. A sub can be overbuilt, but if it won't hold together, it'll fail.

    I stand by my comments on your previous video about this company and others like it that consistently provide inflated specs for their products. It is a clear example of defrauding the customer. Customers should be able to buy a product and be confident that the specs listed from the manufacturer are accurate. Companies like Rockville consistently produce products that do not meet advertised specifications. In this instance one can’t even be confident in the TS parameters as they clearly do not belong to this driver.

    I tested my Rockville punisher on a bc5500 that automatically means I'm getting rated power to it and I even clamped it with tru rms meters and those show wattage. so it handles rated rms on a tone. Also I've been doing 5k burps on the punisher with the bc5500.

  • @EMFAudio

    @EMFAudio

    3 жыл бұрын

    You haven't been doing 5k burps, you've been using a 5k amp. Additionally, I do 31,000 watt burps on YOLO's, that doesn't mean they'll take it for a period of time. Burp power means nothing. But in regards to claiming a certain power based on a voltage and current clamp, refer to the clamp testing of the amp used in this video. kzread.info/dash/bejne/p3aN19uzcpCxpZM.html You'll notice it shows voltage and amperage which give VA, the same as what you're referring to. In that particular instance it shows 9,162 VA where the actual power when taking into account phase angle is 7,999 watts. Different frequencies, different volume levels, different impedances, etc. will have a different phase angle, so it's not a set percentage it will be different either. In the case of the 7500 there is a 13% difference in those numbers where on the 4000 kzread.info/dash/bejne/q2FszZWYhtKrirw.html playing the same sub in the same box at the same frequency there is a 23% difference.

    I’m constantly looking for the best bang for the buck. I just bought 2 more k9 12’s to run 4. Only putting somewhere 800 rms to the current 2 and they sound okay. Seeing the Punisher fail(which I knew it would after a real test)is kinda why I went with the k9’s. Not that they are any better. I do have some skar evl 15’s that is way to powerful for my setup right now. I’ll just keep them k9’s under rms rating until I’m ready for the skar subs. Keep these informative videos coming. Looking forward to the next one.

    I bought 3 12" and one 18" from Rockville, audiosavings whatever they call themselves. The shipping is sloppy, falling out of their box by the time they get to my apartment. there are small holes on the back of each cone, look like it was made that way so I don't know if I should try and glue them closed or leave it be. I haven't put crazy watts to them trying to blow them but I did open air that 18" on my home stereo receiver bass up trebble down balance to that one speaker alone playing the first few seconds of a song I know to have a great bass tone. On low volume it sounded amazing tight and punchy, not even in a box, thing is I expected to have to have the volume way up to get that response. Not the case on 2 or 3 maybe 4 it was driving that speaker hard. the volume goes to 10, I was afraid to go past 4 but it did sound really good. The receiver only does like 25 watts per channel.

Real world: near and far field freq response, dispersion, power handling, etc.

I sold those and decided to mess around and buy 3 Rockville k6 12’s. They were louder than the sa 12’s. And cost less than one of the sundowns. Will they last? I’m sure it won’t last as long as the sundowns but for the price and as long as you tamper the ratings a bit they are not bad. Just my 2 cents. Another great video.. waiting on what and when Rockville will respond. Not sure how hard it is for a company to just be truthful about the rating. Stop with these three different rates of power. If they just told the truth, they won't have all these issues. Thier equipment isn't awful, just mark stuff correctly. If they came back and rebranded with correct ratings, they would be welcomed back, well maybe ;).

    That amp may be pushing some dirty power ? I have 2 Rockville Punishers on a Dbcomp5 and Punish them myself with no smoke or DB drops..been extremely happy with the subs. Dirty power can blow subs quickly. Not saying for sure that was your problem, but seeing you're promoting EMF products then maybe the 750 rms sub is built for or tested on that power source 🤔 Either way just wanted to clarify what experiences I have had with my Rockville Punisher 12s and amplifier.

    I think it would be interesting to run the TS parameters again and see if they are any different from the 1st one if you think that would mean anything in terms of build quality. Other than being over rated power wise, that seems to be the biggest problem with these. You can build a decent system with gear that is "not that great", but when your box is totally wrong because you dont have the correct TS#s I think that is a different story.

  • @EMFAudio

It takes time to develop a good product. I obviously think it's not too bad of light because I showed real results regardless of what they were, because I have confidence and pride in our products. Stuff I would have to seriously save for and would love to have, but then I see you down grading people that yes may not be 100% accurate and I get your products 100% are. I just feel like you/EMF audio should better then that. They for the most part tell you to run the CEA ratings not the RMS. Not everyone is gonna run a test tone for a certain amount of time to smoke there subs. I'm sure the sub however could handle dynamically or bass notes at 1400 rms and maybe I'm wrong but I know dynamically my K9s can take a 1000rms each which is the cea rated power. I also bought one of there amps it didnt last but they made it right and fix my problem within a week. To some maybe I sound dumb but I'm new to this and wanna learn the ends and outs but when you see people bashing someones products or what products people have, who does that help may even turn people away from the car audio seen bc it overwhelms them. My comment was dickish no doubt, but you don't see Tesla comparing there vehicles to Smart Cars. All I'm trying to say is take the high road and stop worrying about only Rockville, bc you and I both know there are plenty of Manufacturers who lie about there numbers across the board but your not talking about any of them. Then, slam both the low baller and the punisher in the actual spl box, after comparing both at 800 watts, crank the rockiville up to the "2800 rms"...it will blow...then hack it apart and give a generalized diagnosis of what failed. You can see what happened. The coil went slinky right off the former.The only "fix" for this is to rate the sub honestly. There's just only so much heat you can throw into a coil before it burns up. If you need to throw more heat into it you need to get into an 8 layer or larger diameter coil... both come at the expense of more MMS and larger gap which involves trading off efficiency. I'd bet that anything you could do with that motor as far as adding """cooling""" or using a higher quality coil would do no more than 10-15% increase in continuous power handling. Lowballer for example is a 2.5" coil, compare with Sundown SA, DD25XX, or even Alpine Type R which are all honestly rated at 700W or so, that's about the limit of true continuous power for that size coil. This is getting into the difference of power ratings of "hook it up to an amp rated for this and you'll probably be OK" vs. "it will withstand a sine wave at that much clamped power for several hours". And as far as I'm concerned Sean should get as many returns as he can and break them at or below rated power and create as many videos as possible. Companies that make dishonest power handling claims deserve everything they get; if your product isn't damn near indestructible at a given power level you shouldn't be printing that number in your marketing.
