I honestly appreciate and respect that you stick to the way of doing things that you are used to, even if they are not what most would consider the norm. The vast majority of tutorials stick to Blender's defaults and conventional means of doing things, which, while effective, I feel can tunnel vision users into thinking there's only ONE way of doing something. It can discourage people from finding their own preferences to how they want to do simple tasks... Blender is extremely flexible, and you can always customize things to your convenience. For example, I heavily use the quick favorites feature, putting lots of heavily used tools there, but no blender tutorial I've seen uses them. I know why they don't do it, but I still think showing that there are options is always good to spark some creative uses of the tools within blender

yeah honestly 3D applications can be flexible to a fault. Modo was definitely this way, and Blender is certainly up there. I'll investigate the Quick Favorites feature for sure.

2:00: you can right click after adding a loop cut with shift+R to cancel the sliding and just place it in the middle (shift+R>left click>right click)

Exactly what I was going to comment. Definitely quicker using shift+R.

I don't like the command+R method, I personally find it more confusing to work with.
