I think the video is not really a tutorial, more of help for people with half an idea on how to do it. He gave himself the best conditions with a perfectly organised easy car and not one modified by someone who is messy. And even though he gave detailed in getting it in and out, but doing the swapping was very brief and not really helpful.

I can't wait to work on a drift s2k, this really gets me motivated. Great job on the video/teaching us :)

Nice tutorial, When I did the export and load into Kseditor, some material transparencies attritubutes get changed from true to false, making the car windows etc, opaque, not a major problem but tedious Any ideas why?

I’ve done everything as you said but when I update preview it just shows the set of wheels. I don’t know whether it’s not recognising the textures properly when I load persistence or something, but its really annoying.

My car exports into KSE black like a shadow. What did i do wrong i did every step you did. It shows up the same way when i import it to the game fore preview and error codes when i try to play it.

hey i don't know if you'll see this but i followed ur instructions exactly in order to take off police lights off other car model to make a police r33 and when i tried to export kn5 it gave me like 30 errors and said complete and when i tried to run the car model in game my pc basically froze up because of content manager freezing up are you able to possibly help out with a video on how to tackle these errors or actually ad addons on vehicles such as police equipment?

Restart kseditor, load fbx(make sure it's from the folder also containing new cars textures including your old textures, copy and paste them, click skip), then immediately load persistence of the new car then the old car. You were clicked on the car or a part inside the car, so yes you weren't in the right tree. You can't be selected onto anything. Cheers

i know this video is old but ı have a question i installed a car and wanted to remove the wing i followed the steps that you did in part 1 and 2 but the problem is i was able to remove the wing but my cars dashboard lights the speedometer things* are not working and ı dont understand why because i didnt do anything other than removing the spoiler anyone have a solution?

Copy and paste the texture folder from the car you took parts from into the texture folder of the car you are changing, if it asks to replace click SKIP. You're missing texture

you have too associate the material to their own textures

I had to scale everything down. Try scale .01 worked for me

Does the software you use for 3D modeling, not have the mirroring tool?? This will save you a lot of time and be more accurate

Save the kn car to the destination folder of the original car. Make sure also to include textures of both cars 1st the original and then the other's car which you took the part .Be Careful when you copy 2nd car's textures in the first car's unpacked/texture don't overwrite the same named textures.

I found the problem you have to put the textures from the car you took the wheels of(out of the texture folder) in to the texture folder from the car you want to edit.

@@bread704ac When you open the content Manager and go to the car you want to take the wheels of you go to cm showroom where you unpack to kn5 (how It is shown in the Video). And you unpack to kn5 the folder pops up in explorer and then there are 3 things in the folder First the texture folder and the the two other files. The Textures in the Texture folder have to be copied in to the texture folder from the car you putting the wheels on. When you dont unterstand i send you a Video on insta!

Hey thanks for the vid. Am new into asseto/pc mods. And trying to tunning some cars. In 3dsmax ill remove my wing on the skyline, then i save the file. I open up my kseditor, and open my fdx file that i safed. But for some reasom the cars show up black, aswell when i open up my content manager and update the car the picture gets black tho withour the car. In game my my car shows only the rims and 1 door and headlights. Do you maybe know how this come?

You need to load the persistance file for your skyline that you got when you first unpacked the car.

replace your your unpacked mods for the car you are taking parts from and the car that your going to be driving. so that means replace textures and fbx files. and then re export your car to that fbx file. then load the editor and you shouldn't have any texture errors. hope this solved something for you:D

Im having the same problem for 2 days now its FREAKING annoying

First of all, thanks for this tutorial. after many unsuccessful tries (car too small, appearing all black or even not loading in cm showroom) i finally was able to make it to the cm showroom with 0 problems. thing is, now it says i cant race it because it doesnt have the LOD files or whatver. could you explain why is that and what should be done to fix it? @EvlRabbit
