Kevin Burke (born 1950) has been considered one of the finest living Irish fiddlers for over four decades, appearing with such seminal groups as The Bothy Band, Patrick Street, and the Celtic Fiddle Festival as well as Christy Moore, Andy Irvine & Paul Brady, Mícheál Ó Domhnaill, Jackie Daly, Ged Foley, Cal Scott, and Open House.​ ​In 2002, Burke was awarded a National Heritage Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, the highest honor given in the United States for traditional folk arts.​ ​In 2016, he was awarded the "Gradam Ceoil" (Musician of the Year) in the traditional-music awards presented by the Irish-language TV channel TG4.
