Awesome! Before you started the 2nd coat, the simplistic colors was also a winner. You have added greatly to my knowledge of resin art work. I had a disaster with a resin that was curing in the cups even before they got to the canvas. One was simulating boiling! I've never seen anything like that. I won't bore you with the details, but the resin, much like you, taught me a lot. (I wish it had been videoed, "what not to do with a bad pour!" or "One of the 3 Stooges doesn't do resin!") Your finished painting, I lose words, and for me, that's saying a whole lot! BEAUTIFUL!

Hi Monica, your painting was beautiful I love all the color. I was given your name by The Epoxy Resin Store, I live in the Philippines but go to the U.S. once a year to visit family. When I am in the U.S I order art supplies as I am in a rural area and we have no art supplies, they have a few things online but delivery is too expensive. Last year I got casting resin Clearcast 7050 and I love it for casting and making freeform bowls. However, I tried to do a 3D beach painting and it did not work out so well because the resin was too thin much of it ran off even level and I could not get any lacing for the waves. If I waited a while to let it thicken the white could not move through the resin to get lacing. Also hard to get the wave layers raised for the 3D effect. So I need a resin that starts out thicker. I emailed The Resin Store to ask them the best resin to use and they gave me your name. Can you let me know about "General Use Resin"? It looks thicker. I saw last year you used "Art Resin" why did you change to this one? Is it good to dome with? Do you use a respirator? Anything you could let me know would be appreciated.

Hi Lynette , I don’t use the Resin 7050 for my paintings I use general use resin it’s not very thick it’s the same consistency as art Resin not sure if you’ve ever used art resin before but it’s about a quarter of the price that’s why I switched. This resin has no VOCs but I think you should always wear a respirator when using any type of epoxy resin even if they tell you you don’t have to. I think That the general use resin is good for everything I have used it on just about every project I have ever done. I have also used it for free form bowls and they turned out perfect I hope this helps you. Monica beautiful as usual. Just wanted to know if you think that you get good effects with this resin? I know it has an expanded work time but sometimes I worry that that takes away from the effects you are able to achieve.

I like this painting very much. My engineer husband would just look at it and shake his head. It's a great look on the wall. Did you heat it up any more or just did the stick movement.
