I have a friend in the UK who decided not to bring his wife and kids to the UK. He had stroke last year and he’s in an old people’s home. Mind you he’s in his 50’s. Think about your health when you decide about leaving your wife in Ghana and not the culture she will learn.

How did that first man speak? Honestly! Ghanaians also have different tribes which influence the way we also speak. In the old days we had the old Cambridge School Certificate system which molded the West African Examination Council , our elders spoke differently and most of our older generation were even taught Latin which is the root of English. In primary school, we were also taught grammar. Our school system changed in the late 80s early 1990s. I agree with the second young man and thank you for your platform.

About bringing your spouse, it all depends on the mindset of the person being the woman or the man. I can attest to this because he or she might think you have saved lots of money that they are coming to enjoy but not necessarily to come help you. They are actually be focusing more on their family back home. I will soon be here to share my story.

Great interview, very inspiring story. I however see nothing wrong with your wife’s pushing for you to let your family know she was part of the property. Why was it too difficult for you to let them know. You actually personalized it. A woman struggles to buy a land and starts a project and you want to take the full credit? Acknowledging her efforts wouldn’t have done anything.

  • @tomofosu4081

@Inkatown-six my dear there is nothing wrong for a wife to buy a plot of land for husband to build, marriage is partnership, gone were the days it was one man show. Nevertheless the man never said he was going to will it to his extended family, he made it clear to them that is for the wife but due to love for material things and greediness she kept on reminding the man that the land is hers. Successful marriage and a plot of land which is important ? she lost big because of the greed. I don't know why the majority of women think of properties or benefits they will get in marriage instead of working things together for good future, they way I dislike divorce.
