Shane Douglas is the man. I wish that Extreme Reunion was on tv so I could watch it.... people in Philly are spoiled.

Shane's son has probably heard his dad tell these stories a dozen times with wrestling friends, and at that age, kids don't understand a lot of terms adults use or the truth behind adulthood talk

Shane with the truth. No matter who you have on the card, no matter what you have "featured", make no mistake, if you are running a wrestling show, make no mistake, people paid for a ticket because the ad/flier/poster said WRESTLING.

Shane can salvage this probably, but he needs to evaluate everything that went wrong with Extreme Reunion. He drew people, the question is will most of them give him a second chance. I think if he plays this right he can get most of them back.

Awesome interview. Sucks he didn't reach his full potential.

More accurately, he did achieve the potential that his God-given ability allowed. Unfortunately, the promotion which allowed him t utilize his full talents didn't have the money for Shane Douglas to be seen on a nationwide TV network and advertising was next to none. As a veteran once said "You could have Jesus Christ booked to show up at a wrestling show but if nobody in the general population knew about it, no tickets would be sold and on the night of the card, the house would be empty.

I would tend to agree with that. I think Shane doesn't get anywhere near the amount of credit and respect he truley deserves.

Dreamer has started his own promotion recently. The same old ECW type of environment, it's called "House of Hardcore" not surprisingly named after ECW's old wrestling school.

I think 'Extreme' has ran it's course!

@MrDivalover1 I used really like WCW and ECW but having an angle or formula which works for a short time does not mean success. WWE will always be on top because they constantly evolve and stay relevant.

The comment I made was 11 months ago and after the current issues, ER is done (in my eyes). I tried to give Shane the benefit of the doubt but I was obviously wrong about him. In the original ECW Terry Funk taught a lot to the younger guys so there's merit in Shane's theory. Shane just showed up in terrible shape which is amazing when you think of his crusade for months over this leading into the show.

(pt2) And for as many people as Paul gave a break, it was never for them, it was for his own gain, and on the flip-side, he left a lot of people poor and ruined a lot of lives, without even having the decency to tell them they were on a sinking ship. Instead, he continued with his cult bullshit until the very end, as if these human beings were his puppets. I understand the value of his contributions to wrestling, but it amazes me how much internet wrestling fans love this man.

Shane Douglas was a great heel in ECW, he was the top dog there. Too bad he burned so many bridges and pissed off more people in wrestling than just about anyone else.

Paul is a compulsive liar and as Jim Cornette likes to say he'd rather climb a tree and tell a lie than stand on the ground and tell the truth. I frankly love Paul as a character and for the work he did in ECW. Punk said he owes his WWE career to him because he protected him when they wanted to fire him. In a lot of ways Paul doesn't seem any more scummy than a lot of other guys in wrestling look at Shane (who used to criticize him for how he treated the boys).

yeah most of wrestlers from ecw wwe wcw in 90's have save up there money from wrestling in big 3 promtions doing something diffrent. harris twins who were known as skull and 8-ball in wwe attitude era, blue bros in ecw also harrris bros in wcw. are music excutives for christian record label. godwins own restraunt in there homestate. hbk retired in 2010. in hall of fsame. is enjoying his retirment life. than there are people like ric flair hulk hogan who never save dime. they are broke!

His TNA comment is laughable. TNA has gotten better Every single year. And in the last year since bruce prichard took over writing and booking it is actually worth watching from beginning to end. How many can say that about ROH or WWE televised shows?

WWE is the worst monopoly ever operated. They are just asking for any promoter who has 1) capital and 2) an eye for talent to step in and take back wrestling. WWE worst decision was to acquire the assets of WCW because it killed their need to be competitive. What makes Vince the best promoter is the fact he refuses to be beat. When you have no one to beat because you have beat them all, you have no motivation and thus this is the product we are watching now.

Oh they got motivation and it has nothing to do with what you said. Their motivation is to cater to the 8 yr old bastard kids in the audience and their soccer parents. It has nothing to do with competition since they want to be a kids show only.

Shane needs a haircut

Shane is very out of touch and it annoys me how he's pissed on ECW's legacy. I doubt he has any credibility left anymore. I wish the ECW stuff would just end already. The original product had a magic to it but a lot of that was Paul Heyman and realistically ECW would have changed by now if it was still around. Shane mocked a lot of the older guys when he was younger, now he's ended up just like them.

Shane's has done nothing to piss on ECWs legacy but I do agree that ECW has gone and went. Its Heyman and because of him ECW died. Shane and the other ECW wrestlers broke there bodies for Heyman and he gave none of his wrestlers nothing back and ditched them all for Vince and has stayed protected in WWE. Shane is a intricate part of ECW. Shane would've continued it and probably evolved it if Heyman didn't kill it and sell the rights but ECW is gone and its best to let it be.

Why is it called ECW's Shane Douglas speaks candidly? Did the world suddenly forget he was at WCW and WWF/E. Didn't the event they are talking about on this show totaly bomb with no shows and drugged up wrestlers? Ofcourse, with anything in wrestling as far as Dean Douglas is concerned, it was all Rick Flairs fault! Damn you Flair! You are nothing and never did anything in the wrestling world compared to Dean here! Your gimmick was nothing compared coming to the ring as a teacher!

***** I know dude, it's called sarchasm. You get alot of it on the internet. None the less, fuck Dean Douglas, Shane, Troy or what ever he isn't called. The guy is a joke and more like a bad parody act than the amazing star he thought he was destined to become. Another classic story of 'I was held down by other people' rather than admitting he just wasn't that good.

Surely it would be worse for me to simply avoid Shane Douglas and all he says without even listening to him.. I'm a fan of wrestling which is why I am watching an interview with a wrestler, which is why I am here watching a video of Shane Douglas. Your point is moot. Hitler was a moron and a blight on humanity, but people still read his book, and books about him. You don't have to be a fan to listen to someone, that's why debates are two sided you moron.

vince monopoly in wrestling or sports-entertainment stinks. because i remeber when monday night wars started in 1995. it was fun entertaining the competion was great bewtweem wcw and wwe also ecw as alterative from wwe and wcw.
