My wife and I have a Scarlett Macaw. He’s pretty funny sometimes. Other times he can drive you insane with his screaming. He has also learned all of the families ring tones and says hello when they go off.

Ok the clucking like a chicken is also hilarious. These birds are amazing. If they weren't such a commitment I would own 1. I admire the dedication it takes to successfully own 1 of these, I equally abhor seeing birds with all their feathers pulled out from anxiety. Please don't get a bird unless you're prepared to have a pet who lives for decades and may well outlive you,and who also requires a LOT OF attention and care.

I own a cockatiel and its pretty hard but cute bc they need attention, also never give your bird sweets like how that guy let his cockatiel eat that pancake or whatevr it is, birds can eat some fruits and vegies but not things like pancakes and sweets

Yeah, that's right. So much easier just having these KZread 'virtual pets' -- no time / attention commitment, no vet / food bills, no worrying about whether they might be ill, no guilt about them not being in the wild. Same reason I chose not to raise any human kids, or have a girlfriend, or live in a house. The _simple_ life!

Truer words have never been spoken. Having a bird, especially a parrot, is a massive commitment and tho very rewarding it’s definitely not for everyone. There are far too many birds who end up unwanted and miserable because people don’t realise how much hard work and sacrifice is involved in their care. It’s not unlike having a child.

it´s the birds that show us how strange human laughter is to animals

If I was 20yrs younger I would have 2 Indian Ringneck birds, and a cat..😊..I would have raised them together. But I'm not young enough to give them the attention they deserve, so I watch the lucky parents that have them...Thankyou for sharing your private lives about them...I don't know if you realize how much joy you bring to the people that watch..😆..Again Thankyou..Love and Blessings from New Orleans...😉😎
