Weird thing is, it's not just a festival thing. I think it may have something to do with more middle aged crowds. I saw Megadeth, Lamb Of God, Trivium and Hatebreed in Long Island back in Sept 2021. It was the same thing there, just a continuous circle pit the whole evening. Sometimes for Trivium it broke up a little bit, but it was mostly circle pits the whole time. I actually sat out Lamb Of God for this reason. I told my friend "There's only so long I can run in a circle before I get bored." I've done Welcome To Rockville the last two years too, for some reason, it's a lot of the same thing there. Tetrarch, Ded, Bad Omens, Motionless In White to name a few off the top of my head, just constant lightly pushing circle pits. At least it got buck wild for Suicide Silence and Knocked Loose.
