    Its not a bad looking meter, the teardown was going quite well until you turned the board over. Bit concerned about the meter not showing OL when the higher voltage were applied. Would need to be totally aware of that if using this, good that you found it. Like you said aimed more at electronics than electrical work.

    Lidl is primarily a discount grocery supermarket but they have one isle, always referred to as "the middle of Lidl" here in the UK that has a mixture of random other stuff in it (kids toys, tools, cooking equipment, cloths etc all Lidl own brand usually) . They rotate what they have in the middle of Lidl every week. So things like the multimeter will appear and once they have sold out that will be it for maybe 9 months then they might appear again. It's weird but fun seeing a arc welder sat next to the fruit. All the tools are that colour and branded Parkside. Usually the tools do the job OK. When there are 20v drills and the like UK tradesmen have a tendency to grab them as backups for their professional quality tools.

    Thx for the update Patrick. I've heard good things about Lidl although I didn't realize the test gear was basically first come first serve. 😅 👍 Right beside the fruit..there's a good reason to pickup another multimeter!

    Hi Darren, here in the UK and Ireland Lidl market a huge variety of tools under the Parkside brand eg. Drills,grinders soldering irons and much more. These are aimed at the home user and priced accordingly. Anyone I know who uses this brand as such usually speaks highly of the quality compared to price point. So anybody complaining about this brand should get something suitable for job in hand.

    @@Scott.Hughes HABOTEST HT118A can measure Frequency: 10Hz/100Hz/1kHz/10kHz/100kHz/1MHz/10MHz without any problems...definitely an inexpensive and capable multimeter option. If money is no option, You'll never miss a beat with a venerable Fluke 87v. 0.5Hz to 200kHz (per spec) but it can also measure higher frequencies (up to 1.5MHz) if input voltage is 7 to 20v p-p

    .Hello Darren. I am a Lidl user for more than two decades and I can assure you that the Parkside material in general is very fair. It is not professional material but there are many professionals who buy Parkside tools because they are cheap and when they break down or wear out they can buy others and not spend a lot of money. I've been a user of this brand (as an amateur) for years and I can only say good things about it. For the price you can't buy anything like it and this good. By the way, I liked your "review" and it is very well done! cheers! Eurico Barradas

    The Fluke 113 isn't exactly the most accurate meter with a 2% + 3 digit accuracy quoted by Fluke. So for your 7.27 volt test, that is an error of plus or minus 0.145 V without the 3 digits added/subtracted. So both meters could be in error and the errors semi-cancelling to give an apparent 10 mV difference. I tested this meter with my Fluke 177 which has an accuracy of 0.09% on the DC range and it was giving an error of 0.4 to to 0.8% depending on the input voltage, but that's within the 1% + 5 digits quoted for the instrument. More worrying is the inability of the meter to show the overload. For general purpose use it's probably perfectly fine, but I wouldn't trust the CAT rating and I'd use my CAT IV Fluke for measuring mains voltages, even though it would be used for CAT II measurements nearly exclusively in a domestic environment. Anyway thanks for the interesting video!

    They Pronounce it Lie-Del where I live. Might just be the PA pronunciation, though. I could probably walk to it if it wasn't so cold right now. They have a full range of cheap power tools. I'm not really bothered by it not having capacitance. This meter is geared toward the homeowner that occasionally changes an outlet or checks some fuses in their home or Auto. Most people that check caps are going to be higher skilled and will invest into a higher quality meter. That being said, For 15 bucks, they should have included a backlight.

    Hi Darren. Hilarious video, thanks for it. Lousy car, lousy multimeter))) Паршивая машина, паршивый мультиметр )) TM Parkside they are practically the same in everything. It seems cheap, the look is not bad, but you start to understand that the quality is worse than that of factory china. Parside is an electric tool, very popular in Poland, Germany, Czech Republic, etc. but its quality is not good. $ 15-20 for such a multimeter is too much. Maximum 6-7 $.

    But your expected price range will depend on where you live. In Western countries this meter will inherently cost more than US$7 in a retail store; they couldn't afford to stock and shelf it for that price. If I saw this meter in a brick-and-mortar store here in the US, I'd certainly think $15-20 was a "necessary" price for them to carry it. We would expect to pay more than $12 for an auto-ranging meter even if we waited 2 months for it to arrive from AliExpress and at that price you'd get a credit card sized manual with microscopic print in terrible English. I don't understand why Parkside would be considered worse quality than "factory China" when that's exactly what it is. This meter may be built specifically for Parkside/Lydl, however, as I don't recognize this case from the Asian online stores. It's interesting when I don't recognize a multimeter from the Shenzhen market and it's probably why I watched the review ;).

  • @Pro100Gadman

    @Pro100Gadman

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@antibrevity I don't look at the manual at all. Even in this Parkside it is not needed, this worthless book. It is already made according to the well-known form factor, in which everything is already clear why extra waste paper is needed. It is needed to read from there, what is the error of the multimeter and what are the limits. You don't need to know anything else.) I agree that the market is different, and somewhere it is cheap, somewhere more expensive. But even if you don’t take Aliexpress directly, then we have a lot of cheap and simple multimeters in stores with a price of $ 5-7 that have exactly the same functionality, but still have a manual choice, and you can measure something more accurately. parkside is really bad electric tool. Einhell is much better. Manufactured in China with a registered office in Germany...
