Parkour Experts REACT to Watch Dogs 2 | Experts React

Ойындар

Parkour experts Sydney Olson and Omar Zaki are here to analyze the game "Watch Dogs 2". They talk about some of the unique aspects of Parkour and react to Parkour moves in the third-person action-adventure game, critiquing the movements in the game and getting into some of the thinking behind them. They talk about how important environment and individual style is to Parkour, and explain that sometimes the quickest moves aren't the best.

    Addressing the picket fence: As a game designer you have 2 choices, either address it or treat it like every other wall of that height. If you address it then you can make the same move do a different animation. Or you could make them separate moves which would cost more time and resources. You might want to give it a more complex collision so touching it would be more realistic. But the main thing is by addressing it, you now have to address all of that type of gameplay. You have now taken notice of the small detail so you can’t ignore the rest of the small detail. So it creates a more realistic game but a lot more work than just that one fence. By ignoring it, you have less work to do. The downside is it’s less realistic but the upside is you saved a lot of time and energy that could be put into something else that’s more important. As artists we all know that every project we work on can be worked on even more. Nothing we make will every be 100% done and perfect. So we have to pick and choose where we can take short cuts, where our time is best used and stuff like that.

    There are so many different vault animations in this game, I actually copyed a few from this game just cause and they do feel a lot better in person, there are also varients of the vaults and stuff whenever Markus (Main guy in the game) is stunned by explostions and stuff, where he ends doing a.. less graceful landing, more of a faceplant, and the vaults seem way less perfect, the fact they even did that detail is impressive, and whoever had to motion capture faceplanting into the ground after a jump, im sorry XD

  • @shadekage3432

    @shadekage3432

    Also, as a PS, the roll from landing only happens if your moving when you go to land, other wise he just goes for a superhero landing basically, there are even vault types for when vaulting from cover that are cool in there own way, even some animations change when your actively running from the cops (and not in freemode like the video was)
