This was a legendary series. People may try to knock it for being a Ferris Beuller clone, but the truth is it was unique, and truer to the spirit and style of Ferris Beuller's Day Off, than the actual Ferris Beuller tv show.

It actually did, just not in the US. There's a German version of the entire series with the original English track, but it's SD and not HD. It probably wouldn't make much of a difference if they were. The show was shot at 30fps to facilitate the addition of effects on video in post-production. Unfortunately, the video effects were only done at SD resolution, so the only way to do a really good Blu-Ray edition would be to redo them in HD to match the new film scans. Shout actually lost a lot of money on the "Parker Lewis" box sets, so it would be completely out of the question for them. That's why we never got the last season on DVD.

It’s too bad SHOUT FACTORY didn't put any effort at all into cleaning up the image for these series. I guess it kind of has its own charm when watching episodes that look like they were recorded on a VHS tape back in the 90s and has been in storage ever since. Lack of sharpness, the colours bleed through and the saturation is at times absurd. I bought the first and second season, watched them and have kept them for quite a few years, hoping I'd be inclined to see them again. But the quality was just too shitty to warrant reprisal.

@@27inzenith Yeah - and a lot of times the editing was done on video as well so there's no master edit available for a lot of these shows.
