Glad you sampled Eurostar, Aidan. One point to mention is that you clear UK Border controls at Paris Nord so you have no delays at StPancras. Yes both Paris Nord and StPancras are so crowded at busy times and this restricts expansion. Correction: the Siemens unit (your train) accommodates around 900 pax and comprises 16 carriages. The original Alstom sets are 18 carriages with 750 pax. Why ? Because two carriages of the Alstom units are power cars whereas the Siemens units have engines beneath the carriages (as well as being larger in size).

I have only seen St Pancras station twice in my life. 1970 when I was leaving as a nine year old for Australia. And 1983 when I visited relatives. And leaving again for OZ. No Eurostar then. Fond memories.
