Things in this book I didn't bring up: - Eddie has a roommate named Dave. After Eddie rapes and murders one of their neighbors, Dave gives Eddie a blowjob and they begin a sexual relationship. After Eddie dies at the end, Dave commits suicide offscreen. - There's some sort of industrial accident across the city that the characters think might be dangerous. They never investigate or bring it up again. - One of the people in the apartment is a man named Karl. Karl undergoes a religious revival and thinks Mona might be a demon, despite her helping them. He gets eaten by zombies while wandering a bookstore. - Alan might have gotten Ellen pregnant, or she might be pregnant by her (now deceased) husband. She requests that Mona get her abortion pills (which is why she and Eddie left the apartment complex before the climax) and then she decides not the take them. So Mona nearly gets violently raped and killed for no reason. Please share this video and like it and comment and all that other stuff. Make my suffering worth it.

Damn… I shall never again feel bad that one of the characters in a book I’m writing was turned into a vampire against his will as his central plot point concerning trauma and grief. This whole book sounds absolutely horrific and like the author did not do any editing cause like if I saw that shit in a editing pass through I’d maybe think it wasn’t a good idea in the bizarro world universe where I’d think of stuff like that.

@@Skrill99 I feel like my main issue is I’m gonna make his character too suffer porn-y ya know? I want my characters to all still have moments of hope and happiness but damn his start is rough. I’m planning on working hard on a storyline where he works on dealing with the mental trauma from the situation and also getting his life back on track. So a Man vs Himself storyline. Then the sub plot will be revenge against the vamp that turned him. Idk it’s kinda cheezy but I like the idea of him taking out the vamp with help to kinda protect others and get closure for himself.

I'd like to recommend one of my favourite webtoons that deals with a zombie-esque apocalypse. The main difference is that the monsters are not zombies, but way more terrifying and more difficult to kill than zombies. The monsters in "sweet home" are based upon the desire of a person and according to their desire they transform into monsters. For example: There was a father whose son fell out of a window and died. He tried to catch his son but it was too late. His desire was to have arms long enough to catch his son thus he became a monster with long, strong arms. The monsters are also almost unkillable. They regenerate quickly and can only be killed or injured permanently if they are killed during the process of their monsterization, their bodies completely destroyed with professional military equipment, or with fire. To make matters worse: the monsters are intelligent. At least some of them are. For example triggering a fire alarm to extinguish themselves. Also, they are way faster and stronger than the average person and every single one has an unique ability. The main characters on the other hand are ordinary people. Well, the protagonist is an 18 year old suicidal boy whose family just died. He is shy and kind of an asshole at first but his heroic character traits shine through when he sees two orphaned children and decides to save them. I like Hyun Cha's character development a lot. Apart from him there is a diverse cast of characters, many loveable, quite a few loatheable. A rocker girl, who is a terribly noisy neighboor, a guy with the nickname "jesus freak", an old man, a guy who beats his wife, his wife who undergoes a cool character arc, an asshole weeb, a detective, a woman who lost her child a year ago and became crazy so she has a stroller with a pillow inside that she treats like a real baby (that woman is awesome btw), etc. As you can see, I'm obsessed with "sweet home", but I tried not to spoil it.

Headcanon Moana backstory: She is an alien who crashlanded on earth, and the residue from her ship was what started the apocalypse. The reason the zombies don't touch her is their instinctive fear of her otherness and stay away from her. Moana, despite being an alien, is stuck here. She can be an engineer or a scientist or something. Eventually, she adjusts to life and figures out language and realises she screwed earth over, so feeling guilty she goes around trying to find a cure/help survivors. By the time we meet Moana in the book she has started and failed to help three settlements. It always comes down to too many zombies overwhelming them. She goes on looking for company she is broken, hurt and feels lost. She wants to help but is held down by her past failures, so she remains aloof so she doesn't get hurt. Not to mention humans instinctively fear and hate her and only adjust to her over time from necessity. Allen is so taken in by her he is the first human to be instantly friendly towards her. She then starts helping them out but is weary. She knows the kinds of people and we go from there

It was supposed to be a "realistic" peak into the mind of a woman in 90's/ early 2000's new York. Not only was she insufferable, not only was EVERY character insufferable, the references that were trying to date it just made it so clearly sound like a 20 year old who THINKS that's what a deep edgy cool girl new Yorker from the 90s would be like.
