Thank you Sofia for some wonderful advice! I am one of 5, but the only one who lives close to my 99 yr old mom. I am, most of the time, the only other person she sees. She won’t go to the senior center. I tried having someone come in a couple of hours a week. Mom threw a fit when she found out I was paying this person, even though my brother had talked about it to her. She didn’t remember that conversation at all and said she just wouldn’t let the lady in. So I let the lady go and have been trying to do everything myself. She thinks she can do everything she has always done and I am afraid she might get hurt trying to do something she shouldn’t. She told my 28 yr old son she was going to take an old microwave out to the curb. 😮 My husband and I are setting up a camera system to check on her when I can’t be there. I sure hope she remembers that conversation! She loves the game Farkle and we play almost daily. She sometimes doesn’t remember how to play, but this is a peaceful, fun activity for both of us.

What if your 88 mother doesn’t want to socialize? All of her friends have passed away. Her brothers and sisters are in bad health. She is the good health. I’m an only child. I have hired someone two mornings a week. I’m tired. Please help!
