Parasol Wing Glider. Maiden Flight off the Cliffs.
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
I've yet to name this new design but am really happy with how it flies. The maiden flight was in varying winds (3-12 Mph) It was across the slope slightly so the lift wasn't great. Now I know it flies okay, I will add some coloured trim to it.

"Now I knows it flies okay", dude you land it in your hand. Its more than OK. Great job!
I swear I feel like a little kid when I see your gliders fly.

Me too! I sit here misty-eyed, grinning like an idiot. :o) It must be because of the first RC glider I saw, 65 years ago... 10 foot span, silk covered, rudder-only, with a rubber band escapement. The transmitter was the size and weight of a concrete block, with a huge whip antenna. Control was a single button on the end of a cord which cycled the rudder in sequence with each click; straight ahead - full left - full right - straight ahead. Scary to watch! Flying for the day ended when it cracked a wing on the butt of a sheep!

@Doug Cope I get the feeling that John is a perfectionist...his eye for photography and camera work are as smooth as his aeronautical masterpieces.
Flying works of art, every one. This in particular is beautiful. Always great camera work as well.
Ein wahrer Könner, Estetik des Fliegens, eine Kunst für sich.

I love the looks of your planes and the simplicity of their flights. Brilliant!
It does my head sometimes the absolute contempt the vast majority of people show towards aircraft. It’s as though we are born with the entitlement to fly. It’s thousands of years of dreaming and hundreds of years of technological advancement and hey presto we are finally here. It’s friggin amazing people don’t ever forget it.
This is true model making ! No foam , no plasticparts .

Beautifully built and flown sailplane. I flew a black and red Hobbi Hawk at Torrey Pines, Ca. in the mid 70's, loved it.
Nice long moments on that fuse! I can see why it flies so well. Thanks for posting.

Wasserkuppe was great. So glad I live only one country away. Any idea why many glider factories are German? Right, Wasserkuppe.
I love the lines of the old designs. I smiled through the whole video

Stunning! The fuselage looks like a skinny zeppelin. It makes me thing that you could make a zeppelin with a mostly transparent parasol wing and from a distance the wing would disappear..
Brilliant, as usual. Videographer deserves a raise and a pension.
