I believe they do mostly patrol / park up in certain areas waiting for calls otherwise response time would be delayed coming from a hospital all the time

They'll remain within a 1 mile radius of a standby point, or standby on base. Resources won't regularly be based at a hospital.

@@TheDoubledoppler If there's no calls for them to attend then yes, we remain within a radius of a standby point so that we're strategically placed across our area. We have a "system status plan" in place; the SSP chooses which cover point is the highest priority to cover based on incident locations and their category (C1, C2, C3 or C4) over the last 12 months. The dispatcher will use it as a guide on where to place resources if there's no incidents for them to attend.

@@TheDoubledoppler with how often both firefighters and paramedics are assaulted they are given bodycams. their not the same as police bodycams but they do exist. My local Ambulance service (EEAST) has them, and LAS is rolling them out too. I would send some links but youtube will take my comment down. Edit: its optional down the the ambulance crew if they have one or not, but its preferred that there's 1 bodycam per ambulance.
