Paragliding Everest - Pierre Carter

On 15 May 2022, South African Pierre Carter became the first person to legally fly off Mount Everest, having obtained a permit to do so from the Government of Nepal. After 5 weeks of hiking and acclimatising, he succeeded in taking off from the South Col, at an altitude of just under 8000m - as per his permit requirements. What followed was a 20 minute flight of dreams on his Nova Doubleskin, landing at Gorak Shep, below Base Camp.
This was the penultimate peak on Pierre's 7 Summits 7 Flights adventure.

Getting as high as South Col and not summitting, is somewhat a waste of time.
