Every player played well. Laybutt Russell great defence bench forwards impact. Backs great attacking runs. Hookers played nice too. I thought Horne was a good alternative to Puara. Couldn’t fault anyone. As the commentators noted. There was only 1 set that the Kumuls showed fatigue.

Well done PNG Kumuls...the young players stood up to the task and the old hands were inspirational.....Hats off to our Captain David Mead....you have been a great ambassador for our country. We salute you❤🙏👍💯💪💪

Big Thanks and Congratulations to our very own David Mead. Such a young kid when he first played for PNG in the 2008 World Cup and now a great leader and role model for our future Kumuls to follow. PNG Kumuls is a totally different outfit from the day David Mead first played cause unlike 2008 PNG rugby league has had plenty of success especially from the last World Cup and also the NRL Pacific Tests. The love and passion Mead has had for the Kumuls Jersey is just second to none and it surely showed every time he played for our Country. Sad to watch him wear the Kumuls Jersey one last time but man did he and our Kumuls put on a show for everyone at the stadium and back in PNG who went crazy supporting our Kumuls till the full time siren 😂😂. He played his heart out for sure. I was supporting my Kumuls, but also supporting the Fijian fullback. He looked dangerous and sneaky everytime he had the ball. If panthers don't appreciate him, he better move on to another club that gives him the chance to play first grade. You don't stay young forever. Make a move while you're in your peak age.

I think Benji & Cooper- someone said they predicted PNG to win. Halves being the difference. Also our defense was just too good. Especially Russell & Laybutt with some hits from Putt.

A thrilling match,the Batis were favored to win bc half of their team consisted of NRL players w the likes of Kikau,Naiqama,Waqa Blake and others,PNG on the other hand had only a few w the majority coming from the second-tier competitions like QRL and NRL second grade rugby but that didn't stop the boys from fighting till the very last second,well done Kumuls you've made the whole nation proud and thank you lagu David Mead...RLWC here we come🇵🇬❤

Correction Fiji is not a Rugby League Nation they are more like a Rugby 7s nation. They are still developing Rugby League in Fiji.

I think nearly all PNG forwards are from Hostplus Cup. Perhaps NRL clubs will look to pick up few PNG forwards soon since PNG managed to overcome Fiji which has top class NRL forwards. I'm looking forward to that day. PNG has quality backs in NRL already.

A very fitting send off for this gentleman of a player he was and always played with his heart on his sleeve when in the Kumuls jumper. Nixon Putt is an NRL material..He is rock solid and built for 80 mins backrower. MacKenzie Yei, Immanuel Waine and Delbert Isaac, put up a signature performance. Solo Wane, you're a pocket rocket. Kyle Laybutt, Danniel Russell, you just embarrassed Kikaus night. You deserve a NRL call up. Alex Johnson, I can't see any other better full back for Kumuls for this tears world cup..

Congratulations to both teams for putting on a superb performance and great win for the Kumuls. Kumuls have alot of untapped talent that need deserve exposure in NRL.

Kyle Laybutt defended like a beast 💥💯. A hard fought battle by out forwards. Nixon 80min Putt was outstanding. still need some speed and game plan to attack stronger teams in the world cup. otherwise a well deserved win to our boys and coach ST 1/1. All 17 players were superb. One of the best test footy Iv ever seen in kumuls. Well done to the new coach, you've proved your critics wrong.

Very impressive performance by the Kumuls. Impressed with our defence and also fitness to maintain the same intensity for 80 minutes. Our mental stamina is also improving greatly. Looking forward to the world cup.

The son of Adrian Lam is well on his way to becoming a renowned halfback like his famous father. Menzie Yei is the best fwd produced by PNG to date. He is NRL stuff. I think Edene Gabby and Segeyaro must be considered. The duo have a lot of rugby league years left in them. Congratulations 👏 Kumuls for the win.

This is how international league matches supposed to be played. Very entertaining, strong defence, hard runs and playing with pride and passion. Rugby League the greatest game of all. I really enjoyed the spirit of footy. Both teams played hard. The momentum of the game keep getting stronger till the end. Thank you our Melanesian Boys for taking rugby league to the next level.

Many NRL teams underrate and underestimate our PNG local players. Maybe there are certain prejudices they keep holding on to. It's about time they pass the ball to some of our local boys. I am sure they'll have the same impact that Olam has.

For sure there's always room for improvement, but with over 90% completion rate, and only 3 errors the entire game for the Kumuls is a big improvement.💯

Kumuls won, but Batis number deserves a 1-year NRL contract after last night's display. He was absolutely awesome!!

Great tough game by Fiji and PNG . Deserve d win for our brothers from PNG. We had a lot of strike power but the team work and defence of the Kumuls was to good . Hopefully we sort out the stuff going on with the silk tails and Fiji rugby league . Need a great core playing week in week out together like the hunters for png . Then sprinkle in our nrl players.
