@@user-nq1ll6yw4q When one travels quite a bit, to what are truly pure and pristine parts of this planet, where the people there live in villages surrounded by nature, as an architect/designer who has worked for the largest design & media firms in the world, I note their fragility to something that might happen that could decimate their entire existence. This could be earthquakes in S America, the tsunami in Thailand, or, what just happened in Papua New Guinea. Wonderful warm sweet kind people live in settings where they are completely vulnerable due to their innocence and lack of being able to be prepared.

Just yesterday I saw a video documentary on PBS with Martin Clunes enjoying himself in having fun mingling with the natives of Papua New Guinea. Such nice humble people.

This area is so very remote, and underdeveloped, and also throw in tribal and domestic conflict in the mix, and the scalar size of the rockslides maximizes the disaster by 1000%. Insane! Prayers first aoff, and you gonna' need aid, supplies, meds . . . etc.

2,000 people isn't a village, it's a small town!

You can't reasonably expect accurate numbers immediately after a disaster. It isn't important to get it right. It is clear there was great loss of life. There will be a better estimate in time.

This is a horrible sight I can't believe it. I don't mean to sound cruel and I know you want to see your loved ones but they are very very deep and you guys are spending all this energy and you have nothing to begin with.
