Paperback to Hardcover | The Silmarillion
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Another video, another Tolkien's book.
Welcome or welcome back, today we're going to rebind my old, cheap italian edition of The Silmarillion from paperback to hardcover.

For this DIY I used:
Il Silmarillion edizione SuperPocket 2002;
Recycled cardboard, better if quite thick and smooth, in this case I used an ice cream box;

Thank you!
What are the metal corner pieces? I imagine they add not just esthetics but also help prevent the corners from bending. Looks beautiful by the way.

That's right, they are edge protectors. Thank you so much! 😄
Book came out great. What fabric do you use for the covers? And where do you buy it? Thanks.

Thank you! I use adhesive synthetic leather. I bought it on temu but it can also be found very easily on amazon :)

@@BookishDIYChronicles Thanks, I’ll check it out now. I’m doing my first book soon and finding the right material for the cover has been tough in the uk.

@@declanhandscombe7634 maybe you can try making the fabric yourself, I've seen many tutorials on youtube and tiktok. I'll definitely try it sooner or later
Finish with silver paper edges
