I love how so many other villains in other games have extreme motives, but all bowser wanted was a rainbow shell

Yeah, that's a huge plot hole. Besides, Huey moves and sloshes around while he's carrying all the colors... weird. I headcanon that it can only be created if a being who has malicious intent/has done evil things in the past (PM64) is close by, or the one mixing it, which is why it usually doesn't mix when Huey or Mario is picking up/moving with those multicolored blobs of paint.

Well its an overdose thing Bowser was standing in a pool filled with black paint because it was too much it became part of Bowser. we do saw what happens when you get a overdose of a surtain colour of paint in Roy's boss fight

Initially it was save everyone, the Toads who are colorless due to the Sucking Shy Guys, and Bowser ( no surprise ) and Peach at some point where she got taken, before they realize he technically wasn't the bad guy and instead he was just as much of a victim.

Maybe it's the fact that when Paper Mario was hit by paint it was being used by Roy to hurt him, but that's not the case with the toads.

Bowser isn't even evil anymore. He just wants stuff. He doesn't even kill anybody (at least using traditional means)

The time and setting placement on these memories of Bowser's actions and the arrival of his army makes no sense. According to the game's manual, the Shy Guys have to train DAILY in order to become Slurp Guys. So, how the hell after Bowser got possessed did he contacted his army, ordered the Shy Guys to become Slurp Guys by having them trained everyday, while Bowser just stood there in the fountain?

GottaFistDemAll Maybe Bowser DID train them to be slurp guys, but only to slurp intruders from...well...intruding, or Mario. When Bowser roared when he had himself possessed by black paint, it possibly is a war cry. I like your examination though.

no wonder why bowser turned into black paint, he didn't want to,

1st Green Big Paint Star : Bowser mix Rainbow into Black Paint. 2nd Orange Big Paint Star : After Bowser is full of Black Paint and 3 Airships are coming for an Invasion. 3rd Purple Big Paint Star : All invasion of Slurp Guys are coming to Catch Mario's friends and all color objects. 4th Blue Big Paint Star : All Shy Guys are holding the Bucket of paint with Same colors and put them in the Big bucket of Airships. 5th Yellow Big Paint Star : Slurp Guys drink all colors and paper toads to deliver a Mail and use Bomb to Destory the Bridge. 6th Red Big Paint Star : Black Bowser scattered all into Mini Paint Stars.

It was almost the perfect plan...then Black Paint Bowser had to play the idiot card by hurling the Paint Stars and assuming nobody would find them instead of harnessing their energy to make more black paint; as well as ripping or burning the paper Toads so there would be (nearly) nobody to help Mario. He also should've made the Strawguys suck the lifeforce from all locations, and since he might know where Mario was residing at the time (as evidenced by Kamek successfully sending the letter to the correct address) he could've used the black paint against Mario while Mario was asleep , or simply burn Mario to a crisp. In addition, Bowser should've destroyed the fountain as well, so even if Mario got the paint stars from him they would be of no use (as mentioned earlier, he would've been using their power to make more black paint). He should've destroyed the train, and had the Koopalings guard fake Paint Stars so that while Mario was chasing after the fakes, more black paint could be made to corrupt the land. Huey said black paint was toxic, so Bowser could use it in nearly any way he wanted to against enemies. He should've had the Strawguys corner Mario as soon as Mario arrived at Port Prisma before Mario met Huey, while having some fire enemies burn the combat cards to ashes. By the time Mario arrived at Port Prisma, everything would either be white and lifeless, or covered in toxic black paint and uninhabitable. (Or everything should've been white and lifeless underneath the toxic black paint.) *He should've done all of that.* But no, he had to pick up the Villain Ball...

I know, I was just kinda venting about what I think he should've done if he really wanted to win. He could've won this one if he played his cards right (get it?) but he overestimated his plan and screwed up in a few places...he didn't plan things very far. If I were the villian in the game, then I would have done all of the things listed above. Sorry for the mini rant, I just hate when villains are defeated by common sense or simple things because they didn't think things through. :/

So the reason this all started was because Bowser didn’t know the black paint was evil, for some reason.

At first I thought he just obtained the black paint for power but now I know he just wanted a rainbow shell and to have fun like all the toads
