I'm a cop, today was my last day of work for the week and I wasn't feeling it. in our line of work we see the worst of humanity and this week has been no different. I came into work with a poor attitude wondering if anything I do ever really makes a difference and just feeling beat down and worn out. I went to a call for an alarm on a house. Upon arrival I recognized the house as almost a year ago a lady tried to end her life by closing her garage door and running her car after writing a suicide note. nearly passing out I remembered pulling her from the car and dragging her outside. she told me how she felt as though she had failed as a mother, wife and just at life. I gave her words of encouragement and did what I could to make sure she got the help she needed. today I saw her on this call again and she just got married, new job and a new lease on life. She thanked me for taking the time that day to show her that life had so much left for her. I simply said I was glad to see things were going well for her then got back in my vehicle where this song was playing on the radio. I took something from this call and that was the importance of the role we all play in each other's lives no matter how small the role may be for how short a time, may leave an eternal impression."be the change you want to see in the world"

I agree with you man, most people want alot of profanity like the old papa roach don't get me wrong the infest album was f'ing awesome especially between angels and insects but the nee(ish) stuff is still f'ing awesome. Just like linkin parks new stuff the fact is papa roach and linkin park are amazing at w.e type of music they put out. Papa Roach more so than linkin park, they're slowly sounding a bit more techno-ish but w.e still awesome I guess. Lol

The majority of Connection is about Jacoby's (the lead singer's) relationship with his wife. they were getting divorced while this was being written. every album of Papa Roach that i've listened to has sounded different. Connection is so far my favorite they've done, because you can feel Jacoby's pain. the point is, the music almost always has ties back to family or anything related to the band members (ALMOST always). who cares if their style has changed slightly? every artist grows and expands

Papa roach is just amazing this song is just incredible.

The light in their chest symbolizes the heart. At times the light goes out, showing their heart has been broken. At the end it's basically showing that Papa Roach's music helps heal broken hearts.

Seems by some of the comments that they are focusing on the band, it isn't always about the band, to me it is about what feeling they are trying to convey. Some have said Puss Rock, really... You know, the people in the band are just like you and me, they have feelings, they have thought, they suffer loss, and they enjoy success. To each and everyone that wants to hate on them for this song, do you know what was going on in their lives to write and record a song outside of their usual sound. How do you know one of the members didn't suffer a loss or have a family member suffer a loss and they are trying to help them overcome the grief. To be honest, I don't know so I won't judge. I do, however, know what loss is like! It is wanting to give up, standing on the battlefield if sorrow, with no end to the pain. If you stand firm, stand strong and make it out the other side, you really do feel much more alive!

Hearing this song for the first time at just the right moment. I've been going through the most awful shit for the past 5 years, and from the moment I heard Papa Roach almost 18 years ago, their music has helped me get through some dark times and helped heal a lot of wounds.

Do you ever listen to a song that you just connect so greatly with? listening to it just gives you a sense of serenity and hope and strength and basically feelings that can't be described because they're just that great? Well this is that song for me. Always love you Papa Roach

If you guys dont understand and think this song isnt like their other music at all and that they've changed, you obviously missed the point to their older songs like the song "scars". These guys are one of the only bands that are still relevant from the whole nu metal scene. And they still kick ass. Honestly one of the best bands of our generation. 30 years from now we'll look back and enjoy the songs they made for all of us.

Saw these guys live tonight at the O2 Arena in Birmingham. Singer fell over but still got back up to finish the song despite being dizzy. Night was mental they played this, Scars, Where did the angels go and of course Last Resort as well as more. They got a lot of love and gave the best gig i've ever been to. I love Papa Roach. Perfect night. Perfect Band, and from all the singing, i doubt i'll have a voice tomorrow, but for Papa Roach and the 20 years they've now been going. Worth it. Best night ever. Keep going Papa Roach, old and modern you're still one of the best bands out there!
