PANTRY ESSENTIALS | KITCHEN STAPLES | PANTRY MUST-HAVES

This pantry video has been requested several times so I thought I would get you a list of 10 pantry items and 10 fridge/freezer items that I always keep on hand. This is definitely not an "all-inclusive" list but it covers a good many pantry items that I would suggest keeping stocked. If there are items you always keep on hand in your well stocked pantry, be sure to leave them in the comments! Thanks for watching and I hope you find this helpful!

I have a list I keep of my inventory for when I do my grocery order. I can look through it real quick and make sure I am not forgetting anything. :) I like keeping tomatoes on hand, last night wasn't sure what to cook and I made a quick marinara sauce that was so good.

I love to keep “cream of” soups because if I want a lazy chicken recipe, I dump a can in a big skillet and cook the chicken in it and serve it over rice with a side of broccoli!

For pantry- I also keep bbq sauce and Italian dressing! Italian dressing is great for marinades. I keep yeast for making bread, plus it lasts forever! I also like to keep clam juice in the pantry because it’s great for any seafood pasta dishes. I substitute it for stocks! Yummy! I also keep brownie mix and select cake mixes for a quick treat at anytime.

we always have yeast too. We rarely buy bread now. homemade only has a few ingredients and so much cheaper. Hubby likes to make it in a bread machine.... he's on his second one now.... and i prefer to make it old fashioned way. Both are delicious.... and the smell in the house is amazing!

Since food waste is such a serious environmental problem, I would add that if you aren't used to cooking with fresh foods, don't "stock up" on foods that will spoil in a short time. Meal plan, and purchase only the fresh items you need for meals that week.

I also keep Progresso and Campbells soups - especially tomato, veggie, beef & veggie, and chicken noodle. They're great for a quick lunch/dinner with a grilled cheese or other sandwich. Also - canned chicken and tuna for chicken/tuna salad. Great with mayo, pickles/relish, black pepper, and a lil dijion mustard. Works well for a sandwich or just with crackers and raw veggies (carrots, cucumber, bell pepper, etc.). We also love a good frozen stir-fry (like P.F. Changs) and frozen Lassagne (Stouffer's). Great video, Mandy! TFS!

Two of my favourites are Panko breadcrumbs and tomato purée. Great video Mandy, really useful for new cooks . Tip I use for keeping fresh herbs is to chop them and place in ice cube trays, top with a little water freeze and place in ziploc bags. Or you can spread out on a baking tray and fast freeze then put in bags. They taste just as good as when fresh and saves them rotting away in the back of the fridge.

I really like this video Mandy ! Very helpful for the kitchen ! I’ve been wanting to make a video like this for my viewers as well - thanks for all the inspiration 🥰👩🏼‍🍳👌 Little tip for butter milk 🥛 incase you don’t have or don’t need a lot for a recipe ... Take 1 cup Whole Milk and add 2 Tbsp of White Vinegar. Mix together well . Let it sit for 20 to 30 minutes at room temp & you have delicious buttermilk ! Have a great day to all ! 😊

I like to keep apple sauce individuals for my son good for lunch but also easy to just grab and add to a meal.

I keep hemp seeds, cacao, and large flake oats for making my protein smoothies. I am not a breakfast eater and don't get time to stop and eat at work in the morning, so I "created" this smoothie recipe that is like a meal in a cup! My Hubby makes it for me (I am NOT a morning person!!) I use almond milk in it also and natural almond butter.***We always have salsa.... I get the 2pack of large bottles (Tostito brand)at Costco. We like nachos....loaded up for a meal, or with just cheese for a snack...also use it as a dressing for taco salad, and you can put it with chicken and veggies in the slow cooker for fajitas! *** Real local maple syrup is a must. often we will have french toast or pancakes, plus it gets used as sweetener for different recipes. *** We use a LOT of cheese... and eggs...even though 2 of my sons are out on their own now, we still seem to buy a lot! Our youngest son is the biggest eater, so we usually have lots of food around!!*** We eat a lot of salad, so we buy Caesar ingredients at Costco: dressing, bacon bits, croutons and Kraft grated parmesan. *** We buy most of our produce at Costco.... we've only had one here for about 9 years and i don't know how we ever lived without it! We limit our trips to every 2 weeks (payday) and stock up on lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, sweet peppers, berries, apples yogurt cups, carrots, onions and any other things we need (We have a "master Costco list") *** We always have an assortment of vegetables (fresh and frozen). I love your recipes, but sometimes there are ingredients that I can't buy here :( We use light Miracle Whip.... there's no Duke's here!.... also there's no corn muffin mix, all season's seasoning.... and I can only buy ranch seasoning in packets, I have never seen those larger containers :( *** We have lots of snacks here. I have a 15 (very soon to be 16)year old son who eats like you wouldn't believe! Luckily he likes healthy food, he eats apples, yogurt, bananas, berries, English cucumber (he will eat 1/3 to 1/2 of a cucumber as a snack!, Toppables crackers, cheese, he will eat a whole sweet pepper (we buy the 6pks of colored peppers) Also he likes pudding, so I usually have the Hunts snack packs on hand. *** and of course we can never run out of peanut butter! *** Things we don't usually buy but always have homemade are bread, jam and applesauce

Because I'm married to an Englishman, we keep some "strange" staples :-) He loves HP Sauce (it's sort of like A-1), pickled onions (he loves them for breakfast with bacon and eggs!! Crazy, I know!), and "Salad Cream" which is sort of like a salad dressing, but not exactly. I'm not a fan of any of this stuff, but luckily we can get most of it at Cost Plus World Market -- or Amazon of course. I also keep all the regular items that you mentioned in the video. :-)

I like to have dried dill weed that I use in my tuna salad. Also, I love fresh lemons and limes but Publix has organic lime and lemon juices in the bottles found in the produce section just in case you don’t have fresh, they are so good!👍❤️

Great video!! 👍 I LOVE vinegars!!! So I always have on hand MANY varieties of vinegars. I live close to an Asian store and have a variety of vinegars and wines from there, including Mirin and Sake, for cooking. I have regular dark Balsamic, plain white Balsamic, a bunch of flavored Balsamics (🍋, Lime, Blackberry, Blueberry, Fig, and 🍑), and balsamic glaze/ drizzle. I also have flavored Olive oils, too, like Lemon, Lime, Garlic, and Butter flavor. My new favorite is Blood Orange Olive oil, it's AMAZING in dressings. That reminds me that I also have sprays, like Pam, that I keep on hand, like: Original, Butter flavor, and Olive oil spray. I did just recently get an Olive oil pump (not an aerosol). One other thing that I always have on hand is Coconut milk. I love your channel, keep up the great work!!!!!!

Yes and Amen! I keep all, very important I think as well. Mandy, question...well, I can’t get out or this wouldn’t be an issue..I just had major surgery, so depended on the hubby to check and get if needed. Well, I said I need beef broth and red gold tomato juice. He checked, yep....I have them both he said. This morning, I’m up, watching your vids to get caught up on as I’m making vegetable soup. Do you know ...we only have chicken broth and v8.. REALLY Kent!!?? Anyway, question, have you ever used chicken broth to cook your meat in the slow cooker for vegetable soup? I definitely prefer beef broth or stock to cook the meat in..but??

One thing we always have in our kitchen is brown sauce, usually H.P. because my other half LOVES it, on veggie sausage sandwiches, with cheese, or just to dip chips/french fries in. I HATE brown sauce, BUT he does all the cooking as I am disabled, and he puts just a tablespoon or so in a lot of things he makes, like Quorn cottage pie, stews, lentil cottage pie, soups, lasagna, all vegetarian because he is a vegetarian, ( though I do eat meat sometimes, and he even cooks it for me ). If we have run out of brown sauce and he makes something that usually has it in I always notice and comment on the fact the food does not taste the same, it really does add something to cooked food, though I still can't stand the stuff as it is. Good old tomato ketchup for me. I love your videos, especially seeing your husbands reaction to all the beautiful meals you cook, and your sons thumb/s up when he likes them as well. Oh and your cat is adorable bless her. Much love and respect from South East England. xxxx
