This visual advertisement by Pantene depicts the frequent inequality between Men and Women in the workforce. The stereotype that Women are "Bossy" or "Selfish" is a false philosophy that has no scientific or logistical evidence. Everyone within a team should have a voice in the organization and feel comfortable sharing new ideas with their co-workers. Diminishing the importance of sharing innovative ideas will hurt any business and keep them stagnant. To combat this issue, educating the youth is vital to help them understand the importance of equality. Pantene has stepped up big time by educating the community/world in unique ways about this worldwide dilemma.

Pantene's commercial was posted almost four years ago. Yet, double standards for both genders are still prevalent in society. While we have made great strides toward acceptance, the standards still exist. Simply, look at the comments on this video and the commenter's name. It is easy for a man to look at the commercial in a negative light. However, women are not trying to diminish men, rather create acknowledgement of their own talents, beauty and personality. Women are capable of the same thing men are. It is important to acknowledge that the double standards might always exist, but the more acceptance for gender equality will make double standards a minority opinion.

why do feminists always have to compare themselves to men? do we men compare ourselves to women? NO ! there's only you feminists to blame for the childishness you cause. You should rather do an ad where there is bitching between females, it will change your focus.

The ad doesn't shed light on nothing. Just uses something to promote their product. Just like any business company would do. The truth of all businesses. If a solid advice is needed, everyone should just stop focusing on the negative side and blame them for everything. Everyone gets mocked and it's nothing as long as you don't care like anyone should be doing. You thrive as long as you prove yourself instead of blaming on other things. It's never gonna get anywhere by blaming and playing victim on something else. Because you are just gonna be a victim if you keep playing like a victim like that just like what another person in the comments said. This is just a means of promoting a product.

Normally I don't like videos like this but I have to write a paper about it and the comments from mainly men and some women on this video are the exact reason why they made the video in the first place. Can't you see the hypocrisy in commenting foul remarks on a simple shampoo brand video. It's really just a video on double standards that is a term for a reason!! It exists :/ I'll never know what's hard to understand about that.

@@Sky-dk8wq Playing victim card is another thing. This is just an ad to promote their products by using these negative sides and encouraging to be a victim. And all for the sake of money like any business company would do. It's all money. You can't change humans and the way they are. Mocking, back talking, belittling and stereotypes are a regular thing in each and everyone. I have already even noticed such on the people supporting the ad and against the ad as well. The point is that being a victim and putting a blame on something else is not going to get anyone anywhere. Just like another person in the comments said, stop playing a victim and blaming and start proving yourself with your capabilities instead of paying attention on the negative side. You play a victim and it's a dead end. Am I against the ad? Well the ad is bullcrap to be taken seriously. It's a bad behaviour but a regular human nature that will never be stopped and hence why it is bullcrap to complain about it. We also gotta be capable of dealing with all these to have what it takes to be a boss I'd say as we choose to take this position and we should be ready to face the challenges it brings. This is my advice now. Nothing personal, I just thought I'd make my point in this video seeing how the people are overly sensitive to these type of things (I am not talking about you).

This ad is interesting for several reasons. The first reason is that the product that is being promoted is not very evident in my opinion. I question if this ad had any direct success in the selling of the product. Also, you begin to think about how they openly express the labels that some people put on women and think about if their tactics helped or hurt the cause they are standing up for. Instead of only empowering women for about three seconds of the ad, Pantene could have focused the ad solely on the empowerment of women and not about the labels that others give them.

Just here for modules but after watching these , I agreed. Because I have experience some too, I've witnessed this on some people that I've met too, and even on social media. You can see it everywhere. We can't deny this, double standard really exist. But it depends on us on how to face these issues, if we want to stand up or tolerate ourselves being a victim. Like what's the point, still it's our choice if we let ourselves to be affected or not. That's why I don't care what people says to me "you're a girl so you must be like this...you must be like that, you are just like that" It's a matter of choice and patience even if you are criticized by the society. Go stand up if you don't want to be a victim no matter what gender you are, but up with respect and in a righteous manner. Keepsafe everyone and Godbless.

The Pantene digital ad exposes a double standard that is still a kind of culture in some companies. Some of the labels they showed during this commercial when both genders share the same personality or behavior are people may see a man as a 'boss', yet the same people may think when a woman shows the same qualities they are 'bossy.' Furthermore, when men show dedication to their job then women are labeled selfish. I believe Pantene shows that these are sometimes normal behaviors and that there is a double standard when it comes to gender bias. Why isn't a woman claimed as a boss or dedicated or persuasive? Both genders should be able to exhibit their own personalities and still be accepted. Company culture and overall social culture should not be men versus women but more about how can we promote a better life for everyone so everyone can feel accepted (almost like the common good).

Well, on that same note a LOT of people men and women don’t want female bosses. That mentality of bossy are typically because of emotional demand which is more personal than logical demand. A boss male strives for efficiency, a boss female strives for emotional satisfaction. This isn’t 1:1 but it very well exists, this is a reason why men make it easier and in higher positions in the type of work they are in.

This digital ad Pantene released shows multiple stereotypes and standards there are between women and men in the corporate world. The first one the viewer comes across has the male labeled as the boss, and when it’s the woman, she is labeled as bossy. Other examples the video list include a male be a persuasive speaker, while the woman is a pushy speaker. The video also includes women as vain, show-offs, and selfish. There have been changes and strides made for more equality amongst men and women, but not enough. These stereotypes and labels Pantene expressed are still relevant in todays work. There needs to be a greater push to see that women can work just as well as men can.

As a Filipino gay man, I don't have any problem women being the leader. In fact, I love them when they lead, they surely consulted all the members before choosing decision, more empathetic, more understanding and of course less homophobic. This negative label of women mostly came from straight men with fragile or toxic masculinity. They think women as something inferior so they will label them something as bad when they can't control them. So for aspiring women out there, you have my support! 👊

This Pantene commercial is exfoliating the double standard lies amongst men and women, in the various lanes of the business industry. To illustrate a point, the ad spotlighted men appearing as bold, confident, and the final decision making bosses. While women appeared as less confident, sure, and they were just trying to do what they can to keep up in a man's world. While showing the different personality and character traits that exist between men and women, in the professional world. Clear examples were when the man standing before the crowd at the podium, delivering a passionate speech, seemed persuasive, while the woman was pushy. As well as when the young man staying up late at his desk, working on a project, showed pure dedication, and the woman was being selfish, working extra hours. I feel that Pantene is aiming to prove that shows that these are normal behaviors and there is a double standard, when it relates to gender equality everywhere including our work environment. This ad forces us to feel that there leaves more to be desired about gender equality. Why do women at different instances, have to walk around on eggshells, and pour twice the effort to show their competent enough, to be relied upon?

Pantene’s digital advertisement aims to portray struggles with sexism that women face in the business world. At the end of the video, Pantene’s last model is shown in a lighter color dress, and has her hair down. Compared to the other females in the video, this last model is shown to have smooth, long and flowing hair, thanks to Pantene. While exposing unfair comparisons that women face in the workplace for taking powerful positions, Pantene encourages confidence and change for female employees. This confidence is enabled by using their products, which helps both their hair and their work skills “shine”.

This add shines a light on the double standard that we see in the professional business world today. A male business leader will be seen as strong, persuasive, and depicted as a boss. On the other hand, female business leaders can sometimes be seen as pushy, lecturing, and bossy. This can cause a break in management because if a strong male boss asks you for something you do it without a second thought, but if their female counterpart did that, then some would think she is bossy or overbearing. This ad is telling women to not be afraid of these labels and to keep striving for greatness. By doing so, it can fix this divide in management.

This commercial does a very effective job of challenging the inherent societal stereotypes of men and women. Our society tends to celebrate men for the exact reasons they condemn women for. Double standards like the ones in this commercial are the ones prohibiting women from moving up in corporate America. Often times men are encouraged to work and be driven to spend a lot of time in their profession while women are perceived to be selfish if they prioritize their careers over a family. While we have certainly made strides in labeling men and women in society, we still have a long way to go before women and men can be perceived equally for other same efforts and celebrated for them.

What a great comercial. In the modern workplace, there are still a lot of challenges that women have to face, even with the recent changes to societal tendencies in corporate structure. I think it's important to highlight the harsh reality that it is a common occurrence where women are perceived to be doing the wrong thing because men are expected to have that same role.

This commercial really resonates with me. It is crucial that as a society we take steps to move towards eliminating the stereotype between men and women. Often times, men are seen as “confident” while women are seen as “aggressive,” if they actually do the same exact thing. There have been many studies on this. It is up to all of us to realize that men and women have the same capabilities, and it is not right to give different characteristics to people simply based on their gender. This plays into organizational behavior. It is crucial that all- no matter race, sex, sexual orientation, religion, are represented and treated equally in the workplace.

They are seen like that because they are like that. Please look at the latest meta-analyses that depict differences in the dimension of the Big 5 personality traits: you will find all the answer. And you may say that such inherent differences exist because they are culturally driven. But then you have to look at the Gender Equality Paradox and you will find that the more the society is gender neutral, the more these differences actually increase. Which means that they are not the product of culture, but they actually are moderated by culture. Being treated equally is not a matter of discussion. Difference ethnicities and genders, though display different inherent psychological characteristics. Which means that they do not do same exact thing and do not necessarily have the same capabilities.

A 90 lb woman taking two 200 lb thugs to the ground with karate kicks in a Hollywood film is not real and could never happen, lol. Physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, women and men are not equal. Get over it.

Pantene's commercial shows that there are different standards between men and women in the workplace. For example, they showed in the video that when a man is speaking, he comes across a persuasive but while a woman is speaking in the same atmosphere, she comes off as pushy. This is still seen in the working world today. Organizational behavior is affected because many men believe that women should not work and that is why they have all of these bad titles. This can be fixed by giving men and women equal representation in the workplace. If there is an equal number of men and women in the business, then everyone will respect each other and one side will not gang up on the other. Men and women have different but great qualities that can work together to create successful ideas and a successful business.

  • @donaldmcronald3543

Equal representation sounds great but that would mean forcing woman to become construction workers, plumbers, mechanics, custodians, electricians and firefighters. I'm all for woman being all those things but if I'm in a fire I'm more worried about making it out of a fire alive then what the woman to men ratio of firefighters is. It just easier to convince people equal representation is ideal by using C.E.O's and movie stars as examples cuz who doesn't wanna be a movie star. The term double standard implies two of the same kind being treated by separate standards but men and woman are not the same so it is natural to have different standards. But comparing the two standards as if both were ever supposed to be the same is like comparing apples to oranges, there will always be a differences. That type of thinking is why ur last statement about men and woman working together, is exactly what society decided about 50 years ago and people still feel as tho nothing has changed.

Since organizational behavior is the study of individuals and groups in organizations and is also concerned with the behavior of organization as a whole it is perfect for us to take a look at the Pantene ‘Labels Against Women’ Digital Ad. It is the job of organizational behavior to study what it is that creates certain stereotypes for men and women in the workplace. If we can first find why there is this connotation then we can process, collect and move forward with a way to stop this. All are created equal and need to be treated with the same utmost respect. In the ad both the man and woman were in the same positions but treated differently. This is disastrous for any company and must be fixed.
