Ice cubes or any strong sensory thing tend to work as well. Gets your brain to pause and go "huh, what was that?" instead of falling deeper into panic

sensory things really help. i like fresh mint gum to chew or smell. a vial of essential oil would work too. maybe a cold thing to touch as well. and rocking side to side a little helps a lot. also if you're with a loved one, hold their hand, talk to them, etc. just do anything that grounds you and takes you out of your headspace. wishing you all wellness and comfort. remember, you're safe and not in any danger 🤍

i like the window seat too because when this happens, i lean my head against the wall to feel the vibration of the plane and that helps my mind believe i am on the ground

This is exactly what I did on my two flights this weekend when flying solo for the very first time. I just closed my eyes and listened to some nature sounds on my noise cancellation earbuds. I still felt anxious at times but it definitely did help when I started feeling nervous again.

I suffer from Taccophobia (fear of speed) and wherever mean of transportation I use, I choose the window seat. It helps to make me feel balanced when there are turns and curves. Altough we can't feel the speed when we're on a plane, we can feel the bumps and the Ascending and it' descending motion. When the plain is landing, I have the feeling that it is falling. I know that the plane is safe. I simply can'tvstand the plain movements, as it is never still.

The best thing you could do is breathe in and out of a straw actually reduces you having a anxiety attack

Also, sit in the aisle seat so you don't feel trapped. Keep reminding yourself that you cannot die from a panic attack.

Even in a car it if goes to fast i have anxiety attacks i only dont feel anxious when i have a family member by my side to hug on i got this condition when i was in a motorcycle and suddenly got a panic attack even in boats when they move to much

i just distracted myself with games cause my hands were stuck to my legs like when i lifted it i was really shakky so i just thought of other things and played Minecraft lol. On the way back home i sat on the exit row and it was so spacious so it helped alot and i downloaded movies from netflix! GOOD DISTRACTIONS help

Might I suggest also talking with your doctor's, therapists, or psyche to see about getting a very mild/low dosage sedative as an emergency "ripcord" Incase management techniques and diversion techniques fail.

I'v been a pilot for 10 years now. What worries me the most, is the landing to the airport.. Only 2 Pilots out of 15 can master the landing. Unfortunately most Planes they break when we land, because it is difficult to master. On landing, that's where we pray the most as Pilots. But you don't have to fear. We will have to die first before we put your life in danger. Just get rid of that fear and enjoy life.

I remember the girl sat next to me..she is ok during take off and during cruise we talked to each other...but during landing....she had a motion sickness and suddenly threw out...and all the noodles has came out from her mouth and splashing to my jeans and shoes damn...im doomed...smelly all around the cabin

Avoidance is usually what makes things worse. Generally speaking here, avoidance will never help the problem. It’s important to recognize when the panic starts, and having some good coping mechanisms to get you through can make a world of difference. And eating during a panic attack to bring you back into the moment is an extremely common coping mechanism. Avoiding the problem all together can make the anxiety worse and also is not always an option.
