Our onions are called sibuyas here but in your country it is called bawang right? Bawang in our country is garlic 😆

Cantonese from Hong Kong here. I treed pancit palabok in Manila a few years ago & I was blown away by its mild but deliciously savoury flavour. I couldn't figure out what the sauce was. Apparently it's mashed tofu coloured with annatto!!!! For me as a Chinese, it's the most bizarre Pinoy "fusion" noodle dish ever LOL. (I mean, we never put tofu & noodles together). Can't wait to try & cook it myself now. Salamat po.

Pancit Palabok varies from Region to Provinces here in Ph, Mama Lulu’s version ain’t the most common one. You probably tried the Seafood version with Shrimp as its base sauce & no tofu. 😂😂😂

Pancit bihon was a dish I grew eating (I ate loads when it entered the table lol) as I had a Filipino aunty I grew up with. I'm so happy to see Mama Lulu cook this dish and you can tell all the love and hugs that are felt when cooking this dish. Thank you so much for sharing the recipe, it's a happy heart back to childhood.

You guys are funny as heck! But I started appreciating you more once I started watching you guys on KZread. I love both dishes kasi mahilig ako sa noodles! I have mastery sa pagluluto ng pansit bihon and sotanghon, very similar to Mama Lulu’s so I want to try her style sa palabok. I just wished this video has English subs, may have garnered more views. Other than learning to cook dishes, Mama Lulu is truly entertaining to watch! No dull moment!

I love pancit. I had it for the first time about 35 years ago at a wedding. The one I had was chicken, shrimp, and lap xuong (Chinese sausage). It was delicious. Mama Lulu is adorable.

Meron din pong Palabok sa Cavite, specifically Tanza. this one is usually eaten on banana leaf. It is sold per pack then yung itsura nya is pa-triangle na banana leaf and dyaryo. Wala tofu or pork, it is just pure sauce but yung toppings nya ay Pork and Garlic oil, Tinapa, Chicharon, Kropek and egg .

Filipino language and culture is a melting pot of native Malay, Chinese and Iberian (Spanish). While garlic in Filipino is simply called "bawang" (which is Malay for "onion" or any of the allium vegetables), onion in Filipino is called "sibuyas" derived from cebollas.
