I had one of these that I found at a second-hand store as a kid. I lost it when my family lost everything in a fire in 2010 when I was 17 and I just remembered it tonight and was able to find one, somewhat beat up, for sale and I'm really tempted to buy it just for the nostalgia of being able to be impressed by it again. I absolutely loved seeing this video though. It brings back a lot of memories I thought I lost seeing the demo mode again.

The stereo enters a "Demo" mode when you turn the power off. To stop the "Demo" mode hold down the Display/Demo button (next to the big Play/Pause button). Hold it down and after about 3 seconds a message will appear on the screen "Demo Mode OFF". Then push the power button again and Viola, no more tiresome distracting display. The same button will also cycle the display mode while playing music.

Never knew this button does this function to also switch off the demo mode. My parents bought this same model probably in 1999 or 2000, can't remember the actual year but the only difference is ours have mic input and a volume knob for the mic. Such a great stereo and it's still there. There's a problem with it regarding an unfamiliar error code F16 or 61. Though I watched some of the KZread videos how to bypass this but anyway, will keep this stereo as a memory since we have at least two different Bluetooth stereos already.

@@juliankasuk47 mine which is the same model doesnt have the mic input either and the main box says made in singapore behind it, with model name panasonic sa-ak27. cheers from puerto rico

Hi Btw its not a fault it going to demo mode. You just need to set time and it will not do it anymore :)

I found to sound best while in manual mode and equalize it to my taste it with the s.woofer bass button set to mid level not max. this is personal preference.

Ihave one of of this model but i lost the manual so i cant remember anymore the right connection of its speaker system

What are the four little holes under the cassette decks? I have three little holes at the top, but looking at yours it seems I lost the Panasonic logo. I wonder if you're missing something down there.

As far as I remember from the one I had that I lost in a fire in 2010, mine just had holes down there like this one. I did get mine from a second-hand store though so it's possible mine was missing parts. Though I do seem to remember them looking like they were supposed to be there.

@@Chevelle0107 Unless it's 4 microphone holes, I think they're attachments for logos or something. Maybe labels saying deck 1 and 2?

@@lambertovitali3152 they're already labeled on the outside of each deck so I don't see them being labeled again right underneath the would-be larger labels... And I don't remember ever seeing any wires run through to the "doors" of each deck... I honestly think they may have just been decorative or maybe even for reducing air pressure for if someone were to slam the deck shut.

Play with the equaliser. There's presets, 3D EQ, and a manual setting where you can adjust each level.

I have the exact same system. I picked it up from BestBuy in Cleveland, Ohio back in 1999. It played okay for a year and then the CD player stopped working and then stuck on Standby mode and it's been on the fritz eversince... The CD player is a failure! 🙄🙄😁
