    Iron & Blood was sold in June 2009 on ebay by the same "problematic" person. The version of this alpha was October 17 1996, and plays on FZ35S, FZ21S or Dev Kit. The current owner refuses to release it. The stage design contains a part of a lightwave 3D model for Mac, which is part of the 3DO M2 SDK Version 3.0 (1996, part 02444-007). you can see it here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZXaHo8xuiLu9Xdo.html&t=534 Since 2009 Iron & Blood M2 remains unreleased. A shame.

    This is interesting. I would have wondered what a system that could outperform the N64 in 1997 would have looked liked, even though I would have gravitated immediately towards the Dreamcast.

    geez $1500 isn't a whole lot to get a game. You're telling me there wasn't 1500 people that couldn't toss in a dollar each ha. Mechwarrior 2 looked pretty sweet, and realistic You can't go wrong with Need for Speed PolyStar looks really fun. Nice

  • @wanyo

    @wanyo

    As much as I agree that $1500 isn't a ton in that way, this sort of gatekeeping is dangerous to preservation. Holding hostage an undumped prototype/port of an already released game is super gross. :(

    It’s an odd dichotomy of support for different games. A number have actually been dumped using this tactic, but nothing for the M2. With anything M2 related, someone with some big money would need to back it, this happened with IMSA though the guy holding it rejected the offer. There is after all only a handful of M2 systems out there so it’s truly dependent on a small group.

    Why do people ask for money for something they did not make themselves. They could release it in a milisecond. Iron & Blood is a 2nd M2 desaster, without the happy end - yet.

    it is vice versa why would anyone release a dump for free? Only the strongest fans of Consoles games would probably do that. It is still strange since most of the games are either released elsewhere or Not Interesting enough. The Only Interesting Games were Evil Night, Polystar, Battlesport 2, Battle Tryst and maybe D2.

    Not ideal for Panasonic but nice a lot of these games were salvaged to PS1 and PC. Funny thing about NSF on 3DO is many people think it runs slow but it's actually running realistic compared to the PS1 version. What I consider a reliable source "ewhac" said the 3DO version could have done the same arcade style speed on 3DO. Dang so many M2 games only in Japan. :P

    Man, is it facinating to think about what could've been if the M2 had released and at least most of these games finished and released on the system. I'd have loved to see how many more Japanese developers might've jumped on board if Konami found success on it.

    Capcom was also committed to the system, they even had a unnamed 3D fighter in development. It seems to me we would have seen almost perfect ports of PC games as well opening the door for a lot more opportunity.
