It's survival lite, which with some of the more mundane stuff getting automated later on, is great to stay focused on getting back into action and not spending hours on resource management. Loved Ark, but at some point farming the same metal nodes over and over again gets stale and felt more like a part-time job.

Not to mention this game is optimized 1000 times better than Ark. I enjoyed ark but even years after release its still a hot mess of bugs and unoptimized performance. Not to mention this game takes 15 gigs of storage space while ark still takes almost 400gb.

@@DEIKO19 They haven't done anything meaningful to improve ARK in literal YEARS, that game is and always will be a hot pile of garbage. Just that fact that these games are similar in size and scope but ones takes 16gb of storage while the other takes almost 400gb should tell you the massive skill/talent gap between the two dev teams.

I quit ark a few months ago because I can't stand for the companies behind it anymore, and now palworld seems like the perfect game to fill the gap left from leaving ark

My only small complaint is that i wish the environment was also cartoon-ish as well. It'll match much more with the pals

Havent watched this one before now, for some reason, and gotta admit its quite funny to watch this kind of first impression review after having clocked in 400h of single player gameplay.. There's SO MUCH of what you're saying that is correct, but at the same time only touching the surface.. Especially on the complexity and depth there actually is to the gameplay and lore.. Also the things you say about all the different game vibes you get at the same time.. THAT is what makes Palworld special! It is almost creating its own completely new genre.. We could call the genre "Mashup", cuz thats honestly the only word that truly describes what Palworld is.. The CEO of PocketPair actually did an interview back when the game was first announced, where he states that Ark is in fact the main inspiration.. I actually treat my Palworld like I treat my Ark.. Completely sandboxing it.. 😂❤ I'm level 48 now, but I'm not in a hurry to beat all the towers and legendaries.. I have plenty to do, like grinding/farming and constantly rebuilding/optimizing bases for the smoothest worker efficiency.. Now that some times has passed, it would be amazing for you to do a commentary video on how PocketPair has been doing as a studio.. Like: communication, adaptation of community feedback, keeping promisses, the pace of bugfixing/improvements and so on.. I think you know what I'm trying to hint here.. 😂😂😂 Wildcard! Watch and learn! - aaaah.. That felt good.. 🤭

I've been hearing about this game a lot lately. To me, it's just basically Ark but with Pokémon. I like to give it a try when I get a chance.

Pocket pair already dropping hotfixes so hopefully they'll have the servers stabilized relatively quickly.

Massive potential in it's future.

With the profits they made, we as players cannot go easy on its development. We should not tolerate bugs and lack of polish. For now its understandable, but its reasonable to raise our standards of what we expect from these devs.

Been having a blast with the game, playing on game pass, but definitely buying when i can. Brother and i are playing multiplayer and it's been overall really good. Almost lvl 30 and excited to keep unlocking everything to make a awesome base and keep going. Even thinking of possibly doing a challenge in the future.

I'm about 40hrs into palworld and loving it! I'm so glad there are no seagulls to steal my stuff... or pegos. That makes the game so much less stressful than ARK all by itself - a good chill alternative.

I love what the game is going for and would love to try it out but alone from the market place pictures I hate the clashing artstyles. You have the stylized pals and the hyperrealistic guns and world. Not saying the game is bad but I hope they make adjustments to this in the future.

I was on the fense about this game. At first I only bought it cause my ark friends took a break to play it, so yeah, peer pressure, but now that I've played it, it's a Really good game. And if this is Alpha version it'll probably one of the top 10 games ever by the time it reaches it's full version

Having a server in a Palworld is truly a pain right now... Tons of bugs/dupes/cheaters and what is more ridiculous - cheaters have more possibilities than admins in game xD

I didn’t want to watch any videos of the game until after I played it for a day, and holy shit was this game user friendly. If I were to play ARK like that, as much as I love the game, I would’ve quit within the first 3 hours. I had a lot of fun exploring the world and actually found out how to befriend creatures on my own UNLIKE ARK… all in all, this is a very good game

I’m addictive to the game. Most nights I find myself playing till 3:00am no other has given me this feeling other than maybe Minecraft.

Just a heads up, palworld was made in UE4, not 5

They're also filling the niche of creature based survival game, and it doesn't require a newer rig like ASA does, so more people can actually play it

I find it funny how game acts like all of this is super eagy and dark and me sitting hear being like all this seams purfictly responsible

I'm here to tell you that craftopia is amazing. And the production lines are the most unique thing in craftopia that makes it stand out.

It's pretty good and it's not even finished yet. It's maybe 1/3rd to 1/2 done. Early access is early access, it's only going up from here, friends.

Eh. Never been a fan of pokemon or pokemon type games. Ark is the closest I get and Palworld is just too...cute, for my liking. But for the people who like it, more power to them. Different strokes for different folks.

My one issue is within the first 20 seconds lmao you’re comparing Ark graphics to Palworld? Palworld looks better than Ark when it was in Game Preview for Xbox, way more clean. Maybe NOW Ark updates their shit, but they had horrible graphics and crashes for like a year before they made major updates.

personaly, i consider this to be more like a digimon rip-off than a pokemon rip-off.

Palworld shows that people care more about gameplay, artstyle and world design over fancy graphics. Technical know how is irrelevant if the game is not fun.

Pocketpair also just partnered with KLab to make an new mobile game. Which means they're going to start dealing with microtransactions. Maybe it will stay out of Palworld, but I have my doubts.

I want to play it honestly, but.. stolen assets make me concerned on if it'll get abruptly deleted somehow. The lawsuit Nintendo is getting on the company behind Palworld isn't super promising either.

There are no stolen assets, using store bought assets is not the same as stealing assets, they own the license for them and are using them appropriately. Also the chances of Nintendo having a case are slim at best, they've known about Palworld for almost a year now if they intended to file suit it would have been prior to EA release.

There were tweets and YT video floating around someone comparing the 3D meshes of Pals and Pokémon and they were eerily similar. However the video poster was later forced to admit they scaled the models to fit better put of spite because of 'Palworld endorsing animal cruelty'. So that's a bit messy. Now Palworld did indeed wholesale copy Pokémon's artstyle, but that in itself not copyrightable, so if they did not copy any existing Pokémon directly or used Gamefreak/The Pokémon Company / Nintendo assets, they should be in the clear. Where I think the AI hysteria comes in, which is pretty unfounded given how AI can't generate 3D models just yet, and many of the Pal designs were shown in trailer 3 years prior, yet Nintendo did not take it down. Buuut Palworld devs likely used fakemon generator or Pokémon combiner sites for the brainstorming of their creature designs... but that old tech is nowhere near what genAI we have trouble now with Midjourney, Dal-E or Stable diffusion. So if they used those old methods and official Pokémon art as reference/inspiration to build their 3D models manually from scratch, that is perfectly fine. However, if they just ripped existing Pokémon models and tweaked those without licensing them, that would be really bad. Given how Nintendo didn't take down Palworld yet, neither Craftopia because of the Zelda BotW similarities, it's likely they did their ripoff on the smart, harder but legally distinct way. Then the strong similarities are only because of Pokémon's simplistic artstyle and story is over. Yet there is the official Nintendo statement. So they are still checking wether in the exact model ripoff they have an angle of attack. But again, due to the Palworld designs existing for years in trailers and they didn't hit it. It's likely also against their own salty fanbase without blatantly shutting them down, but essentially 'yeah, we know about Palworld, will you just stop clogging our e-mails with endless whining'.

I just wish the new game was up coming and could kill ARK so Wildtard and snail game is going to die in future. 😂
