That's the point, Lily doesn't know what her followers get up to for money, they hunt down pals and likely sell them to poachers. Since she lives in the tower, she's ignorant of the lengths they went to establish the sanctuaries.

There are npcs that sit in random places that have more lore. The 1st npc you see in the game talks about seeing her entire crew/group killed by pals. She says she's seen hundreds die.

What if this wasn't just a hidden place on Earth, but a different dimension entirely, this could explain the impossibly massive World Tree somehow not being visible from outside the fog, and maybe the fog acts as a gateway to this separate dimension

This is an interesting theory, but I have a small doubt about it. Check the moon in game. It's a stock art of our moon. If it's our moon, in theory it's really our planet. As for why the geography looks nothing like a place on our map, tectonic plates are always moving, and that will eventually reshape the planet again. Hell, Africa's expected to split in half according to scientists that study this kind of thing. So, I expect the timeline to be in the VERY distant future.

19:10 - 19:29 I'm pretty sure it's meant to be hinting towards the assistant being used to create Shadowbeak. This would explain why Victor couldn't replicate the experiment. Also, Axel doesn't seem the type to be a lab assistant.

I always thought the free pal alliance attacking pals was some sorta glitch and early access thing that hasn’t been fixed, but reading Lily’s diary, it all made sense, this doesn’t even feel like an early access game, it feels so refined I treated it like a finished game

Would be an interesting challenge to make a "Free Pal Alliance" run, where you follow their comandments. Probably only having the pals you rescue from the syndicate's cages, since they join you voluntarily. Edit: Alright since the thread is getting long, i'll summarize what rules we are getting so far: 1- Thou must not eat pals: This one would be easy, just eat berries and then move to wheat and other things you can plant or get from ranch (except eggs) 2- Thou must not overwork pals: This one is hard because the game glitches out a lot and pals go hungry or get hurt for no reason, so i think we could let it as simply not increasing the workload with the thing to supervise them. Besides that, just always prioritize having the best beds available and hot tubs and whatnot, anything that can make the pals more confortable. 3- Thou must not abuse pals: This is probably the most important one, as to capture a pal could be considered abuse. As such, the only way to get pals should be to rescue them from cages or hatch them from eggs. Raids should be turned off so you don't have to fight them by force. The only exception would be to be able to fight the tower bosses, otherwise this challenge wouldn't have any objective (Except for Lily since of course, she's the leader of the Free Pal Alliance). This also would give you one way to get ancient civilization parts that you need to build the incubators. The reasoning here is that you are fighting them to free the pals under the tower bosses control. (I know it dosn't exactly apply as you are definetly beating them up, but it'll have to do, or there wouldn't be much point for this challenge run). Capturing humans is allowed fully tho. 4- Thou must not use pals for experiments. (This one is simple enough, don't synthesize them and whatnot. If you want to get more strict with the run, you can also write off breeding, as selective breeding could be consider an experiment) 5- Thou must risk thy lives to protect pals. (basically, always go fight anyone that's attacking pals (even if its ironically some of the Free Pals Alliance members, lol, we'll call them renegades or sth)

i wonder whats the best way to integrate 'do not overwork' since it doesnt forbid having them work, just not overdoing it. cause pals are fully autonomous on base, its kinda hard to keep them from randomly getting stressed or injured. and whats about eating eggs harvested from the ranch? they cant hatch into pals, so technically they arent pal eggs.

That should be a prerequisite for players to breed them, somehow.

So as far as we know, the story probably isn’t finished yet as we are still on version 0.1 of early access but I think we can say that this is like amazon’s “the boys” but with pokemon. Like, what would happen realistically if pokemon were real? Just throw in another faction thats fully commercialized and corporate and involved with the exploitation of pals for profits and there we go. :)

@@michaelsinclair1343 that’s how they will add the extra monsters to the world. New regions, new pals that live there. Love it. Breeding is frustrating but also fun. Made a beakon with crazy passive ability. Lord of Thunder, Musclehead, Legend.

I get the feeling that Alex went missing because some accident happened and got fused into Shadowbeak without Victor realizing it which could also explain why he couldn't repeat the process since he was missing that extra step.

I believe Alex the missing assistant was hinted to be used in making Shadowbeak, instead of being Axel.

Three things convinced me this game was made by people who understand what makes games great: - Respects the player by letting them do what they want to do. - Not taking itself too seriously (“Cheeky Bastard!!” whenever you fail to catch a pal) - Jokes like what is going on with Pal Number 69.

The best lore imo is just the fact Marcus according to his journal entry, sells drugs then arrests them for possession to make money off of them. The lore is beautiful in its own way

While you pointed out that FPA, shows how us despite saying we love animals often let them suffer etc.etc. but you did not point out how FPA rules (representation of veganism) shows how people become fanatical in it believes and start to put animals before humans. Willing to do serious physical and mental harm to others not caring about their situation.

One of the most interesting things I’ve found is that in lore from Helzephyr’s paldex entry there is apparently an underworld.

This is actually a far better concept than I expected and really has got me thinking. Because essentially to play the game you use some of the messed up logic all these people used in different ways.

Damn i don't know shadowbeak is a lab experiment.. no wonder they're one of the strongest combat Pal in the game

I think the "winged, four-legged pal" project is a reference to the fact Smaug was changed into a Wyvern for the Hobbit movie. It was talked abut in interviews how the six-limbed dragon would have looked cutesy, according to the people who decided to change from Tolkien's description. In this context it would seem that Palworld wants to say something about genetically engineering the six-limbed monster that is a far cry from just evolving your front legs into wings. Combine that with the concept of not respecting the adapted work, going against God by making abominations.

My favorite thing about the Free Pal Alliance is I always see them with caged up pals and/or fighting pals.

You CAN reach the tree. You just need to use a glitch to go under the barrier and you can set up a base there even once you make it. The area around the tree is a large flat plain full of only grass. If a base is set up there, you can just teleport straight to it if you want and of course, it is unraidable, despite not being up a mountain or having cliff walls to protect you, as no Pals or other mobs spawn near the world tree.

Most pals seem to be carnivorous, or vultures. It's useful for baiting out surprise spheres if you're struggling to keep a supply of ammo and want to minimize expenditures.

I'm really not a fan of storytelling through collectibles, so thanks for the summary. This world building has huge potential that I hope we get to explore as the game becomes more and more complete. I'm particularly interested in the factions, my favorite being the FPA, and I'd love nothing more than to have some kind of system where you could become allies with certain leaders rather than being hostile to every organization on the archipelago. Maybe even something like Fallout where your decisions and allegiances can lead to different endings. Love this game so much already, so I've got high hopes for its future!

That's awesome! I really hope they go that route. They'd need to develop a few more factions first though. The ones we have now are all reprehensible. The best "good" Faction we have is a PETA analog that hunts, sells, and kills Pals to fund the saving of Pals.

funny enough if you play the game long enough sometimes you will see Pals hunting others or hunting human thugs and ate them XD i was suprise when i saw that kind of interaction but it does make sence

Frostalion with swift has enough stamina to reach the top of the border to the tree, though there is another wall, but an untraversable one

Funny enough you can just go over the red barrier and the island can be walked on. thier is a invisible wall closer to the tree.

Especially since their whole identity is based on flawed logic. Plants don't feel pain, so it's humane to eat them and spare animals. Ever get a whiff of fresh cut grass? That's a chemical warning from cut grass to the uncut grass to prepare for damage. Literally a chemical scream. Just because you can't hear the cornfields screaming, doesn't mean they're not. Not to mention the bees, rodents, bugs, and other creatures killed by farming. Eat what you want, it's a personal choice. Just don't be a Richard about it.

@@matheusexpedito4577 she seems the mostly chill boss in lore. Like she has the most level head. She's not really sadistic or obessesive as the other tower bosses. She just wants to chill in a tower all day with grizzbot and run her poaching operation. Which isn't the best, but least she's not sadistically evil or so far up her own ass she doesn't notice what's going on like some of the other tower bosses can be. One could argue lily is better morally but I think she a bit crazy, plus shes the head of a powerful organization to protect pals that doesn't protect pals. She isn't even control of her organization. She's the girl failure to Zoe's girl boss. Of course that isn't to say Zoe is perfect either. I mean she probably still is a little bit evil or at least complacent in what her group does. But least she's open and knowledgeable of it.

if u catch a legendary pal near pal genetic research tower, it says that the legendary pal stopped calamity by freezing the entire island. perhaps that gigantic bones are remains of said calamity.

Those giant fossils seem to be the flying whale pal From the trailers. U can sort of tell because the ones found on astral mountain actually have remnants of that crown looking thing still on there backs.

I think it's a "better story" because it's literally just real life issues/hypocrisies while aiming more for adult audiences, whereas GameFreak deals strictly in fantasy and audiences of all ages lol.

Its interesting that none of the characters are exactly great people and have all caused much harm to pals whether directly or indirectly. This is what makes the freedom of playstyle so great for the game because you can ether choose to continue the cycle of suffering for the pals or become the "chosen one" who understands and lives along side them in perfect harmony.

Thanks for uploading this! I hate collecting the story in games because i tend to forget what i read when i pick them up and I usually find them in the wrong order lol

to fix the bug where your pals bug after a raid or enemy also can be fixed by toggling the bell at your base to have them focus on work

I have a feeling once they unlock the world tree we are going to encounter the Castaway there and that Castaway is going to be ancient because the Castaway is the one that named the pals is a pal and seem to be the first one on the island and then others with more modern tools started showing up and encountering the Castaway so we're either going to get some great Knowledge from the Castaway or have to battle them that's my theory anyway

cue a battle to see if truely bonded with the pals as the ancients did or blend both timelines of tech and harmoney of pal bases so on. Test if you truely found a balance test.

Story is more interesting that i imagine, i hope they finish it

Robinquill's dex entry discusses humans and pals diverging ages oago. With the information presented in this vid, does that mean they only diverged in the sense of the bonds being torn, or is it, like I originally suspected, A case where there is some evolutionary divergence like in a certain other franchise that will not be mentioned for the sake of how while there valid argument to be made this game is still fun and has merit?

I'm leaning towards the bonds from both of them since Ancient Humans are gone and only the Pals are left in Palpagos Island.

i love how the free pal alliance still has all the pals in cages

Palworld needs a flushed out story to bring it to the next level

They will...But it will take more time before it goes there. Remember that we are still on EA and buy the time we get to 1.0(Full Release), the full story and lore will be flesh out before announcing some kind of Expansion Campaign like a DLC.

i failed the 5 pal commandments on the first day😂

Thanks for telling us about the story. Console player's, like myself, can't currently read them ourselves. At least at the time of writing this comment anyway.

Arks story was an after thought. PalWorld has a story from the start even if it needs more work. Ark needed the expansion to make the lore tid bits an actual story.

This is a lot more cohesive than I expected. I haven't bothered reading all the notes I've found, it's a bit annoying to piece the story together like that, but a 20 minutes video? Excellent.

13:41 this i can confirm. i have seen lileen's people attacking direhowl and other pals and killing them for some reason. it was quite a scene.

I’m so glad a game like this was made. Once you hear the story of the development team you appreciate it so much more.

Fun fact: You can fly over the top of the red barrier to the tree island, but there's a second invisible barrier that goes to the map ceiling further in that I was unable to get past. I was able to land on the island shore, but unable to get to the base of the tree.
