Brooo, how can you not like these setups?? i would be dying to get such a good setup for my spotted turtles. (only on a bigger scale of course) you got a new sub, cant wait for new content and builds!!
"i don't love this set-up" When they are literally the best ones I've ever seen, keep up the awesome work, I'm subbing !
So many enclousures, and still very nice ones!
Hey, I love these kinds of videos, they inspired me to get axolotls, I’ve had them for three years and two of them had babies. We saved about twenty and they are thriving. Thanks for the inspiration and keep on doing what ur doing

I just got a salamander today so this video is helpful for building it a habitat.
I wanna make paludariums and terrariums so badly but... my boyfriend won't allow it. XD He does NOT want "creepy crawlies" in the house so... sadness. :( I can watch these videos though! Yay!
Would you mind linking me the lights you use on your paludarium setups, and what’s your opinion on emperor newts, would you ever keep one.

Those are really good! Bravo! I have a question about northern two-lined salamanders, I have made a five gallon paludarium for one of them and I plan on catching on this spring, would a five gallon be adequate or should I just make use of a vacant 10 gallon instead and leave the littler paludarium empty?

I love your tanks!!! I have two tiger salamanders. One that I've had for 9 years and one that I just got this year, much younger. I noticed how you have your salamanders together. I was told that they don't do well together. I would love to put mine together. What are your suggestions?

@@slitheringsalamanderscapes6887 One last question. What substrate or fertilizer do you use to keep the plants and which types of plants and cleanup crew do you recommend? Do you think a standard 10-20 gallon enclosure can be planted? Thank you for your time.
@slitheringsalamanderscapes6887
3 жыл бұрын
@@KrabzAgaandFriends all substrates are different depending on the animal. For terrestrial, usually organic potting soil, coconut fiber, sphagnum moss and bark chips. For aquatic usually a combination of gravel, clay and sand which I just buy from regular pet stores. Plants, I get ferns, pothos, moss, liverworts, various creeping fig and others. Cleanup crew depends on species...springtails, isopods on land. Water usually combo of snails and shrimp. I would plant any size tank.

@slitheringsalamanderscapes6887

You could go a lot of directions. Small plethodons (woodland salamanders) are one choice. Could also have some smaller newts etc. Eurycea types like Cave Salamanders or two lined salamanders are also smaller and that kind of space could work ok.
What did you use to mount all the rocks / wood, plans on the sides??

How do you successfully grow the moss in the enclosure because I’m trying to fix mines up and what’s a good salamander or newt recommendation you would suggest cause I’m working with a 40 breeder paladarium that has mudskippers and a few small species of fish
@slitheringsalamanderscapes6887
Жыл бұрын
Temperate moss is difficult to grow in any setup. There needs to be a decent amount of humidity, but you also need some level of airflow so things won’t get moldy. I would be careful having any salamanders in with fish. I do use shrimp and snails as clean up crews, but avoid fish. If it’s a paludarium you can have most lungless salamander species that inhabit streams. The water needs to be very clean and cool
i see that the second tank is inspired off serpa designs
I just got a salamander and have a moderate base tank for him to chill in while i figure something out permanent. You have salamander i see, do you have any tips on an enclosure? Its not my first time with a reptile or amphibians but it is my first time with a salamander so im slightly oit of my depth. Hey, that second paludarium you showed really looked like that one from serpadesing for his fire bellie toads 😅 Did you get inspiration from him?😏 Hehehe
@slitheringsalamanderscapes6887
11 ай бұрын
Sure, I’ve absolutely taken ideas from people like him and implemented those processes and steps to improve my own designs. For instance, his methodology ti drain false bottoms is genius and I use that in many terrestrial builds. However, I tore that tank down some time ago and made a completely different design given there were too many dead spots in the water. I like the new one much better - Amazing Salamander Paludarium published in Jan of 2021. I’ve also modified it multiple times since and in subsequent videos. I would say many of my builds differ because I typically use real materials (not all the time) and salamanders have unique needs. Watch some of the later videos and you will see what I’m talking about. The one you referenced was built before I had a KZread channel.
