Literally lived this! Girlfriend left me in November 2019 for an ex. She seems happier than ever now. I was so good to her. But I guess you can't compete with love 🤷‍♀️

This song used to break me. When me and my ex partner got together he was separated from his wife. He kept pictures of their wedding day on his phone for the first 7/8 months we were together. I always felt not good enough and like there was three of us in the relationship. Little did I realise.. in truth he didn’t deserve me from day one. It’s nice to listen to this without that feeling 👍🏻

forgot how good this is. stopped listening to paloma about 6 years ago because Paloma was the spitting double of my ex at the time and felt alittle bit too painful too watch or listen too. now 6 years later i accidently come across this again and its like listening too it for the first time. absolutely adore Paloma's first two albums. what a voice and truly stunning

This song is ridiculously underrated. So overlooked! It's a huge shame coz it's absolutely stunning. The video is also one of the absolute best videos in the last decade or so. PERFECT.

I have always thought that. Adele has a good voice but Paloma writes most of her own music and directs all her own videos. Paloma is one of the very few artists who has a lot of creative control and is undeservedly underrated. Such a shame as she is my favourite artist of this century along with Beverley Knight who is also criminally underrated.

Extremely underrated. Went to her concert in Newcastle last night and she sounds exactly the same in real life, her show was fantastic

The song is actually about her mam who left and shes picking up the pieces as her dad's broken hearted. During an interview Paloma says this.

I used to listen to this song so much. I always found myself writing letters to a friend of mine 600 miles away. We spoke about our hopes and dreams. At the time, I was in the middle of a relationship where my then-partner was pretty much absent. That friend I wrote is now my love. We've been together for 9 years now. He helped me pick up all the pieces.

I discovered Paloma this evening while listening to BBC Radio 2. Her singing Make Your Own Kind of Music blew me away! I love her. I am now a fan! She must come to Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

+Randi Whalon I agree, it is upsetting. And I believe it is down to her management and record company. They are letting her down badly. As soon as she is able she should get rid of them and get someone who knows what they are doing. How can she be virtually unknown in the US when she has been making records for 7 years and toured the states in small venues twice. It's a disgrace. She needs better promotion.

I have never heard of Gin Wigmore before, and I always check out the artist that someone recommends through another artist that I like and they are almost always really bad and not what I'm into at all (everyone is different). But I love the few songs I have listened to of hers (He Ho, another old one from 11 years ago, and then her newest one from one month ago). I can't get over how similar their voices are!! Do not say she's underrated when she has more than 20 million of views! One of my favorite song of hers.

I remember the first time I heard this song. It drew me in straight away and I still connect to it all this time later. Also grateful because it introduced me to Paloma Faith (I had heard previous music but this made me a complete fan girl).

First song I listened of her. She's sooo good and has truly beautiful voice. Love her style.

I can relate to these lyrics so much 😢 My next project: Learn to sing this song. I'm nowhere near as good as Paloma lol but singing is such a great way to release so many different emotions, I do it as therapy for depression, anxiety and panic attacks. It's a much healthier way than self-harm too, I know from personal experience. I hope everyone is doing well :) xoxo

Seth Corn Hi Seth Paloma is a fantastic artist who I saw live in concert. Absolutely fantastic as she danced on piano while wearing very high heels. This is my first acquaintance with Paloma Faith's music and I think she is awesome. How come she has not been more of a frontliner on the circuit ? The arrangement, vocals, vid and emotions...reminds me ot The Ronettes in the 60's. Spector's arrangements.

I heard this when I was 12 , been listening to it since💗

2022 and I'm still coming back to this song. So criminally underrated!

Paloma has been one of my favourite artists ever since i first heard her, such a powerful, unique voice, such an underated talent its a disgrace 👌

I'm listening in July 2019. Paloma is one hell of a talented Singer. I love her music and style. This Lady, in my books, outshines other Singers.

This song always makes me think of Daphne du Maurier's novel Rebecca, told from the point of view of the second Mrs De Winter, living in the shadow of her husband's glamorous first wife.

This woman is in-fucking-credible, and that’s coming from an accomplished musician. Her voice, her range, and her stage presence demands nothing but auricle for listening. She has, successfully, combined so many genres of music....jazz, pop, blues,etc Her voice is awesome and her style makes you “feel!” She has the whole package. Her lyrics are unreal. She has a nice funk-like subtle rap beat fused to her jazz- like sound. I could listen to this woman nonstop. Oh, and she is “hot!” Just married a nice guy, having a baby, and I wish her the very best. The woman feels what she sings, and that’s rare for most singers.

And again I wish to give one's opinion. All of its movies have done exclusively. I like this romantic place, and environs of this estate, its interiors, its capricious inhabitants ( pretty servants) and Paloma self looks like as a work of painting (She has perfect hairdressing ). And of course, I'd say about Paloma's performance, her fervent singing to catch me, I'm out of breath, my eyes became wet. I think that fantastic movie is one of the tops of her artistic career!!!!!!!
