He has trained since about 12 yrs old from his grand father! About 32 years continously! He is way above the average black belt, I feel his classes are better for those who have at least a basic black belt in any art or your a natural can move fast n flexible!!! Because his moves are clock work n woven into his muscle memory through years of practice which a new bee 🐝 can struggle to follow!!! He trains Special Forces too ... very deadly!

To my knowledge, the palm-stick's origin was both from China and from Japan. In dynasty China, it was called an Emei piercer or "Wang Yi" and sometimes was referred to as a Judge's Pen or a Dart Judge Brush. In Japan it is called a "Kubotan" (Coup-Bo-Tan). While in the Philippines, they included the palm stick or "Dulo-Dulo" (Dew-Law-Dew-Law) in their FMA (Filipino Martial Arts) lessons as part of their impact weapons training for close-quarter scenarios and also incorporated it in their "Panuntukan" (or Dirty boxing) lessons.

The English word bottle derives from an Old French word boteille, from vulgar Latin butticula, from late Latin buttis ("cask"), a latinisation of the Greek βοῦττις (bouttis) ("vessel"), and I`m sure Maul Mornie can make a weapon out of it with his own silat style.

With all due respect the term Kubotan is a new term. As far as I know in Japan the term is Yawara. The term Kubotan comes from a Japanese Martial Artist named Tak Kubota that took a Yawara (pocket stick) and added a key holder to it making it a key chain holder and self defense tool for the Las Angeles Police Department that he has helped train since moving to the United States from Japan. BTW this video is very nice. I have never trained in Pentjak Silat but have had a few times been able to train in Arnis/Kali. I find the Indonesian and Philippino arts to be great for true self defense.

Great video! I notice your palm stick has a paracord wrap? can this be unwound to allow for flexible weapon techniques similar to the sarong or scarf along with the stick techniques? I made a palm stick for myself with holes drilled along its length and a paracord wrap, This allows it to be used as a normal palm stick ,or with a finger loop for retention or with the cord unwrapped and used for flexible weapon techniques( the stick assisting in leverage). As always great videos!

Not an instructional. You have doubts, then feel free to attend a seminar and tell Maul face to face. But you're all too cowardly and would rather hide behind your computer, because you know Maul will shred you in less than a few seconds.
