Palestine, Israel, and the US war machine w/Dennis Kucinich | The Chris Hedges Report

Israel's ongoing massacre in Gaza has stirred worldwide calls for a ceasefire to stop the genocide unfolding. The United States has been no exception, which countless demonstrators taking to the streets in recent weeks. That hasn't stopped the US government from backing Israel's horrific campaign in Gaza to the hilt. The White House has refused to heed calls for a ceasefire and even deployed two aircraft carriers to the Mediterranean-not to defend Palestinians, but to dissuade regional powers from joining the fray to defend Palestine. As the possibility of a regional war looms with the entry of Yemen into the conflict, many wonder how the US might respond to such a scenario. Former US Congressperson Dennis Kucinich joins The Chris Hedges Report for a discussion on the US war machine-what it is, how it works, and how it might respond should the war in Palestine spiral into a wider conflagration.

Benjamin Netanyahu: 'America is a thing you can move very easily' : “I know what America is," Netanyahu told a group of terror victims, apparently not knowing his words were being recorded. "America is a thing you can move very easily, move it in the right direction. They won't get in their way." “Netanyahu also bragged how he undercut the peace process when he was prime minister during the Clinton administration. "They asked me before the election if I'd honor [the Oslo accords]," he said. "I said I would, but ... I'm going to interpret the accords in such a way that would allow me to put an end to this galloping forward to the '67 borders. How did we do it? Nobody said what defined military zones were. Defined military zones are security zones; as far as I'm concerned, the entire Jordan Valley is a defined military zone. Go argue." Source : Washington Post, Haaretz, Business Insider, etc

However we need a ceasefire for starters and Biden must withdraw aid from Israel. From what I know it is the Godless zionists fueling and funding the annihilation of the Palestinians his bowl action wanting to do the same to the Jewish people it is a no-win situation until people raise get their Consciousness raised.

Gimme a break . No wonder the US is such a country of followers reacting to fear mongering in ignorance. The squad is what passes for a critical faction. I don’t hear anything efficacious from them, it’s not their fault, the system is designed to be ruled by a small minority owning virtually all the wealth. How can a small minority rule over a large majority who have different interests from the ruling minority? Same way it’s always been done, divide & rule. To get how US rulers carry this out effectively since the founding of the US as a country ruled by “the propertied minority,” as James Madison calls it, read his Federalist Paper No 10, find out from the guy who wrote down the US Constitution on paper how the majority of US people are being played. He explains it, the way that divide & rule is achieved, enlarging the country, making it diverse, & playing on the differences using control of wealth to manipulate who wins & who losing. US people are told they have the most democratic government in the world when the people who set up the US government saw democracy as the greatest danger to their rule, which they all agreed was necessary. The majority has been turned into ignorant fearful & often hate driven followers, yes, they want you to imagine that men vs women is the most important conflict, stay focused on that and their plan is playing out as they planned. “we need women to save the world, they should have more power, they are the wise ones, unlike the men. We could solve this.” You’re being played & it will never end because Americans think what they have is “democracy.” There’s much more to learn, start with the short Federalist Paper No 10, the purpose of which is to explain to their less informed peers how the constitution will work to help divide & rule the ignorant majority. They stole the country from the people who fought the revolution & never got the small military pay the were promised, ruled by lies & manipulation, then those people who made up the majority couldn’t afford to pay their mortgages & bank’s foreclosed, & the constitution & its rich benefactors backed the bankers, federalism. There’s a lot that could be learned about the first step, to not be ignorant & to not be followers of whichever divide & rule faction you’re loyal to. Stop hating. Try anyway, become aware of the ignorant self righteousness of political hate. You can oppose & be critical without feeling entitled to hate.

There is no one in Congress or the Senate Edward. I think we are going to have to do it ourselves. Time for responsibility by the people put into ongoing non-violent civil action. A hard thing to say, and to have to admit. The marches of 100s of thousands of people around the world supporting Palastine are but small indication of this. There has to be unity overriding small divisions, it's how the hard right, the military and the enablers from Wall Street and the City of London do it. Divide and conquer using our (representative) politicians. I think it will have to come from people in the US in the first place, I don't see the various peoples of the EU getting their act together.

The CIA is a tool. The are not calling the shots. It is the ultra rich billionaires(and trillionaire old banking families) who own and invest in the secret high tech underground and MIC. Government is corrupt and beholden. Some understand this and are jut plain scared and in way over their heads. You see a few in the freedom caucus stand up but as long as that tool, the CIA stands in the way it is hard to bolster support that is not running propaganda or some long con or hijacking an honest movement not much can be done. Until the people understand this dynamic independently of what anyone in government or the bureacracy says nothing will change. They also have enough money to just pay people off, easier to take that check than risk your life for something that has daunting odds of changing. This is why they have set up a vast media propaganda network to missinformation, distraction and to dissaude anyone from getting to the truth.

End of quote. Great points Mr. Kusinich! But why stop there?. There is more. We prefer war over peace because through war we want to conquer the WORLD. We want to subjugate it economically and financially. Already 50 countries are under our thumb, influence, and control. We prefer war over mutual cooperation of World States because we do not want any of that without us ruling over everybody! We prefer war over DEMOCRACY because what we have here is only an ILLUSION of it and we are not planning to allow vassal countries to have any, either! We prefer war because we have a perverted and insatiable lust for POWER, MONEY, and CONTROL. Those 800+ military bases worldwide are not there to spread democracy for sure! It is about time that citizens of this country catch on to all of that .. and DO something about it.

I was always puzzled as to why people didn't learn from the Vietnam vets, then I realised I grew up around them, not everyone else. So not everyone knew the personal views of the ex servicemen. There was a narrative created that made the protestors for peace the bad guys and the vets the poor victims of those protesters. Unfortunately it worked and off went another generation to war, because they listened to the Hollywood stories and not the stories of the people who were there doing the fighting.

Hassan Nasrallah is delivering a speech regarding the ongoing conflict in Gaza. I identify myself as an individual who lives in Canada and does not have any religious or political affiliations. We are fortunate to live in a time where we can still access the original version of this speech. This is a profoundly profound period of sadness in the annals of global history. The perpetrators in the Gaza Strip felt empowered due to the perceived support from the Western countries and their lack of condemnation. The international community has witnessed a tragic event in Gaza that was unexpected and not something they wanted to see. This incident must never happen and must not happen again, and it is crucial to take measures to prevent it from happening in the future. A universally shared objective is to achieve a cease-fire in the Middle East and put an end to all forms of persecution. Human suffering is the tragic outcome of the implementation of an ethnic cleansing policy that took place in the quarter of the twenty-first century. This policy destroyed civilian buildings of communities, leaving them in ruins and filled with the lifeless bodies of unarmed women and children. The perception of the United States' geopolitical significance among the general population has declined, resulting in an image crisis. The deliberate violation of international law clearly shows a complete disregard for the country's obligations under international law. Constraints on governments' moral obligations must preclude the pursuit of global justice to be hypocritical. The main reason for instigating conflict is to gain control over the Middle East. Intentional conflicts worsen the situation by ruthlessly intensifying it. Gaza has tragically become a burial ground for over nine thousand innocent civilians, including women and children, and increasing every hour. For those who remain, it is an ongoing and unimaginable nightmare. The situation has reached a point where there are no surviving family members to grieve the loss of their loved ones. It has had a profound impact on the importance placed on the United States' global image. The façade has been dismantled, the so-called "values" have crumbled, and only the rhetoric remains intact.

I seriously think Dennis Kucinich should run as an independent for president. I voted for him even after the Democratic Party and Thom Hartmann did their duty to oust him in the primaries. I called into Hartmann’s show way back then, back when MSNBC was owned by MIC giant GE, and of course Kucinich’s concerns over nuclear waste depository Yucca Mountain, near Las Vegas, is why GE, a weapons manufacturer and nuclear weapons and power producer, just had to file some bullshit legal blockade to keep Kucinich off the democratic primary stage in Las Vegas. I asked Thom Hartmann “America’s No. 1 ‘progressive’ talk show host, why he endorsed pretty boy John Edwards and not Dennis Kucinich? Thom, the self-proclaimed know-it-all, has an answer for everything, “professor” had NO answer as to why this progressive talking head I.e., propagandist, I.e., Democratic Party apparatchik, wouldn’t support Kucinich. I kept pressing him and finally right after disconnecting me, he blurted out, “because he doesn’t support Obama.” Which is totally weird because Kucinich was running against Obama and Edwards and the rest of the Democratic primary candidates. Bottom line, Kucinich is guilty of being a real progressive and real progressives are not welcome in the Democratic Party, because it’s a big PARTY.

According to the Stockholm Peace Institute the world spends 2.2 trillion a year on military budgets. Forty per cent of that is U.S. spending alone. Two per cent of that world spending per year would eliminate world hunger. Between 1.5 and 3 % of world GDP (which is apx 100 trillion/year) or about as much as the world spends on its war machine per year would eliminate global warming.

Russia has deployed Mig31s armed with Kinzal missiles in the black sea in range of the US carriers in the eastern med. China has sent cruise missile armed destroyers into the Persian gulf.
