It okay if he speaks his native language and we watch subtitles. I didn’t hear a score for Clan of the Cave Bear, please let him watch more clips of that movie and comment. I was especially impressed when I learned from another source that math, and specifically the counting of days, was something more useful to women of those old tribes bc like he mentioned, they need to keep track of the days for reproduction.

Personally I'm inclined to believe that our society owes just as much to Bonobo's social structure as to Chimpanzee's. I wish more historical media covered the Bonobo connection and our fascination with sexual interactions and possible historical matriarchy

But we didn't evolve from chimps or bonobos, we share a common ancestor with them. The quirks of chimp or bonobo culture could have arisen after we split

@AntonAdelson - We do not descend from Bonobos or Chimpanzees. Just like with Gorillas and Orangutans, we evolved on parallel paths, not in lineages. We all had a common ancestor, but that was perhaps 8-ish million years ago.

I hope we get some good movies about neanderthals & how they hunted humans

Neantherthals WERE humans. Infact Europeans have a little bit of neanthertals in them.
Most of movies are NOT Neanderthals but Homo.
"We don't know if the two societies ever met"? NONSENSE -- if the two societies (Neanderthals & Cro-Magnons) never met then how could persons of European descent have c. 3% Neanderthal DNA? Someone needs to explain the birds and the bees to Ludovic Slimak.

@thurstonisonlyanickname2779 - He was NOT talking about the Neanderthals & Sapiens; he was talking about the Neanderthals & earlier guys somewhere between Erectus and Habilis, who were not that fuzzy! (Erectus even got themselves across the water to Indonesia to eventually father the so-called "Hobbits".) He also said that Neanderthals did not need Sapiens to give them fire because they already had that knowledge. (It was only a film device to get Rae-Dawn Chong into the arms of the Neanderthal man for that genetic sharing you mentioned.)
