PALE MORNING/EVENING DUN -THE DEADLIEST FLIES
This is a variation on the PMD (pale morning dun) and the Pale Evening Dun hatches. This is a very effective fly when the trout become super selective. It is a very versitle pattern in that it can cover the Cahil, Sulfer, Light Hendrickson, Morning and Evening dun hatches.

It can be fun when you get in on a PMD hatch and as you say can be frustrating. My experience has been the fish get real selective on both color and size but when you hit the right combination hang on . I have a couple of big fly box dedicated just to PMDs you can never tie to many of these in #20/16 and in multiple hues of the yellow, cream , and in this case pinkish . Thanks for the video and keep on rocking
Hi Chris - you’re clearly extremely well informed and experienced and your commentary is great. However, could you get your camera closer to the tying action? I’m sure we could learn more from the details of your tying techniques.
Nice to see a traditional hackle fly. I live Pmd heaven here in Western WY, the staple dry fly type everyone uses is a comparadun or sparkle dun. I am going to try your traditional tie in a shade of pink.
Could you post the mats plz
Can you describe or provide information about tying this fly not random facts?
That's "Let It Bleed" by the Rolling Stones.
Cool video, but that's about it. No info on how to make it: size, material, method, etc. Purpose? Unknown.....
