The guy from the foreign language textbook tries to have a conversation in the real world. It’s kind of universal wherever bad textbooks are made (which is most places).

The concept behind this is great, like a children show mascot coming to life trying to carry a conversation in the real world.

@@WaaDoku Yes, true. However, they don't have to verbally correct you. Often you can tell by the look that you said something wrong. Then you get to correct that either by asking them or just looking up where you went wrong or just asking someone close who does know it.

I like how he bows to the trashcan at one point. Nice touch

I'm studying Japanese right now myself. I can verify "Tony's" unnatural Japanese is straight out of the textbook. Also I loved it when Tony suddenly turns into a geezer.
